Key Responsibilities
Manage a steady pipeline of commercial real estate closings from contract execution through post-closing.
Order and review title work, lien searches, surveys, estoppels, zoning reports, and related due diligence items.
Prepare title objections and work directly with clients, lenders, underwriters, and third parties to resolve title, survey, lien, and estoppel issues.
Draft and prepare preliminary Closing Disclosures/settlement statements and coordinate closely with buyers' lenders.

Prepare and organize all closing documentation to ensure smooth and timely closings.

Draft and review commercial real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, deeds, bills of sale, affidavits, resolutions, promissory notes, mortgages, assignments of leases, and other loan and closing documents.
Review title commitments, surveys, and title exceptions; satisfy Schedule B-I requirements and address Schedule B-II exceptions in coordination with underwriters.
Assist with pre- and post-closing matters, including payoffs and final policy issuance.
Collaborate with loan closing specialists to prepare loan closing statements and satisfy lender requirements.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the real estate practice.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of defined terms in purchase and sale agreements and the ability to prepare, calendar, and track critical contract dates.
Experience processing real estate files from contract through closing and post-closing.
Solid knowledge of commercial leases, title insurance, title commitments, surveys, title exceptions, encroachments, and zoning issues.
Ability to work directly with title underwriters to clear exceptions when required.
Familiarity with real estate closing software; experience with SoftPro is a plus but not required.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a professional client-service mindset.

Responsibilities:
Client Advocacy & Representation
Vigorously defend individuals facing criminal charges, including DUIs, domestic violence, sex crimes, drug offenses, theft crimes, violent crimes, probation violations, and federal matters.
Own every stage of the case lifecycle-from intake strategy, probable-cause review, arraignment, discovery, motions, negotiations, trial, sentencing, and appeal (when applicable).

Overview: Legal interns contribute to the effectiveness of our County and Appellate teams. Legal interns are typically rising 2Ls and 3Ls.
The intern program supervisors assign the legal interns to two attorney mentors-one from the trial division and one from the appellate division. Interns shadow the trial mentor at court hearings, depositions, and jail visits. Program supervisors and mentors assign the interns research projects and motions to write. The appellate mentor reviews all of the legal interns' writing projects and makes suggestions before the interns submit the project.
Legal interns attend a writing workshop geared toward improving their motion writing skills and various monthly Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentations. Each week they have a group check in with two senior Assistant Public Defenders to discuss some of their experiences from that week and to get new assignments. Students do not typically receive academic credit.

The State of Florida is seeking motivated individuals to join our workforce. Our internship opportunities offer bright, highly motivated law school students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the operations of state government while obtaining valuable on-the-job training.
Law clerks will work on a broad range of assignments, including both transactional and litigation-related work. General duties include legal research and writing, discovery, and trial/hearing preparation. The ideal candidate would be a first, second- or third-year law student, possessing excellent research and writing skills, the ability to work efficiently and independently with a moderate amount of supervision, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is an ideal internship opportunity for those interested in public service after graduation or in fields related to administrative law, litigation or contracts.
Applications are accepted year-round. Internships may be paid or unpaid and there is no guarantee of employment. Agencies that have a current need for an intern will be reviewing applications to place qualified students within their respective agency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in a juris doctor program or graduated within the last twelve months from an accredited college or university juris doctor degree program.
