**What you´ll do**
+ Henkel is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal. This role supports attorneys in the management, protection, and enforcement of Henkel's worldwide trademark portfolio, spanning consumer brands and industrial businesses across multiple regions. The Trademark Paralegal will play a key role in safeguarding Henkel's brand assets by managing prosecution, enforcement, and clearance matters in collaboration with internal stakeholders and outside counsel around the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Trademark Portfolio Management
+ Maintain and update Henkel's global trademark database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
+ Prepare and file trademark applications, renewals, assignments, and recordals with the USPTO and through coordination with foreign counsel.
+ Assist with global clearance projects, including coordinating searches, reviewing results, and reporting to business stakeholders.
Trademark Enforcement & Brand Protection
+ Monitor and analyze watch notices and online brand protection alerts for potential infringement.
+ Support enforcement strategies, including drafting cease-and-desist letters, coordinating takedowns, and liaising with outside counsel on opposition and cancellation proceedings.
+ Assist with domain name monitoring and enforcement.
Cross-Functional Support
+ Act as primary point of contact for marketing, product development, and business teams regarding trademark usage, clearance, and brand protection guidance.
+ Prepare reports and portfolio updates for business leaders and global IP stakeholders.
+ Assist with internal training initiatives and compliance programs related to trademark use and brand protection.
Docketing & Deadlines
+ Manage global docket of trademark deadlines, including renewals, oppositions, and other prosecution and enforcement actions.
+ Ensure timely filings and communicate key deadlines to attorneys and business partners.
Administrative & Legal Support
+ Coordinate with outside counsel worldwide on filings, disputes, and budgetary matters.
+ Review invoices, manage accrual reporting, and support budget planning for global trademark spend.
+ Maintain organized and accessible electronic files in compliance with internal guidelines.
**What makes you a good fit**
+ Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.
+ Minimum 5 years of in-house or law firm experience in trademark portfolio management, preferably with a global company or law firm managing large, international portfolios.
+ Knowledge of USPTO practice and international systems (Madrid Protocol, WIPO).

The salary for this role is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

**Compensation Overview**
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

**What Is the Opportunity?**
This position performs a variety of routine paralegal duties and has a solid understanding of routine legal issues. Assists attorneys and others in legal case preparation and file management for standard matters which may include routine to moderate legal research, conducting investigations, drafting routine documents and obtaining, reviewing, summarizing and analyzing all relevant documents, reports, records and other sources of information.
**What Will You Do?**
+ May conduct basic legal research and analyzes to prepare legal documents.
+ Assists with projects as requested
+ Compiles and/or drafts legal documents for review and use by attorneys such as routine documents, discovery responses, affidavits, and other routine legal documents.
+ May assist attorneys in preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial with general matters.
+ Prepares exhibits and other demonstrative evidence.
+ Categorizes and interprets data; reviews and analyzes reports, responses and records.
+ Conducts routine investigations including interviews as needed and directed.
+ Coordinates requests between multiple parties involved in litigation.
+ Uses resources to identify and select subject matter experts and provides instruction on areas to address.
+ May prepare and publish legal holds.
+ May prepare case summaries and/or case analysis reports.
+ Subpoenas records.
+ Coordinates with Document Management to obtain underwriting files and certified polices.
+ May review and process bills for payment.
+ Captures time and records billable time in accordance with policies and procedures.
+ Utilizes technology to respond efficiently to discovery requests.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
+ Bachelor's Degree.
+ Paralegal or litigation/claim experience.
+ Insurance related experience.
+ Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
+ Proficient in use of legal research software (e.g.
+ Westlaw, Pacer); Microsoft Office and PDF Software.
+ Advanced interpersonal skills.
+ Advanced grammar and writing skills.
+ Intermediate knowledge of general law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures.
+ Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
+ Ability to manage time and tasks.
+ Intermediate research and analytical skills.
+ Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and online research such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
+ Ability to learn proprietary software systems.
+ Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-Certified program.
**What is a Must Have?**
+ A minimum of 2 years' experience as a paralegal or related work experience; or i) a Associate/Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certification from an ABA-Certified program and ii) one year of paralegal or related work experience.

The Paralegal will assist VP - Legal by assigning accounts to outside counsel, monitoring and reporting on the status and strategizing and managing the process to maximize recoveries.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare packages for placement with outside counsel.
Manage outside attorney's progress and strategy for maximizing recoveries.
Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources.
Provide reporting for status on accounts.
Contact customers for workouts and settlements.
Respond to subpoenas.
