Position Overview
The Trademark & IP Paralegal will be an integral part of the firm's Intellectual Property team, supporting attorneys with the management of domestic and international trademark portfolios. This professional will coordinate filings, manage deadlines, and assist with IP enforcement and litigation support.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file U.S. and international trademark applications, renewals, and related documents.
Maintain and monitor IP portfolios, including docketing deadlines and status updates.
Conduct preliminary trademark clearance searches and prepare summary reports.
Assist attorneys with trademark disputes, oppositions, and enforcement matters.
Liaise with foreign counsel on global trademark prosecution and maintenance.

Coordinate compilation of trial binders, trial exhibits, demonstrative exhibits, coordinate arrangements for equipment and use of offsite trial facilities; assist with preparation of motions in limine, jury instructions, witness and exhibit lists; draft direct and cross examinations; assist with jury selection, operate trial preservation software, and attend trial.
Perform basic legal and medical research, utilizing library books, on line research tools and internet, cite checking and shepardizing.
File maintenance within Firm standard. Prepare files for storage or return to client.
Assist in the post-trial and appeal process by performing such tasks as polling jury members, drafting memoranda of costs, cite-checking Motions for JNOV and/or new trial and appellate briefs, and creating and coordinating the assembly of excerpts of record.

Must have a minimum of two years' experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate law department and possess a solid understanding of litigation issues and process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manages counseling office and provides clerical support services to counselors and other support staff.
* Manages student data files (hard copy and electronic) to keep them current regarding enrollment, transcripts, grades, demographic data, and class registration data.
* Manage support staff appointment schedule and monitor student flow in the guidance office area.
* Process and register new students.
* Requests and collects records from previous schools for students new to the school.
* Coordinate withdrawal of students leaving the school.
* Provides appropriate records to special programs (special education, EL, 504).
* Processes and assists in the production of the various publications associated with the guidance department and program.
* Prepare student hard copy files for transfer to the high schools.
* Collect and deposit all money including, student project money, fines for lost textbooks, yearbook orders and receipts
* Assist with school capital outlay and activity budgets.
* Handle all transactions for check requests and donations.
* Disburse petty cash for activity and board accounts.
* Provide front counter assistance to students, staff and parents as needed.
* Assist with calls and visitors to relieve others during breaks.
* Receptionist for parent/student conferences.
* Provide support for transportation arrangements.
* Maintains positive and productive relationships with staff, students and parents.
* Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Enjoy working with adolescents.
* Ability to effectively use communication systems including email, fax, internet, phone, etc.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work under set time lines.
* Able to work quickly and efficiently in a high energy environment.
* Proficiency in working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Mastery of Microsoft Word and Excel. Past experience with student data computer systems.
* Friendly, cordial and welcoming even under difficult circumstances.

* Testing is required for this position. Applicants must show evidence of clerical and spreadsheet skills.

Job Responsibilities
+ Prepare and file U.S. provisional/non-provisional and international patent applications with USPTO and International Bureau.
+ Manage multiple client-specific dockets and ensure all deadlines are met.
+ Draft and file USPTO documents (IDS, Office Action responses, Declarations, Assignments, POAs).
+ Coordinate international patent filings and liaise with foreign associates.
+ Conduct patent searches and gather prior art references for IDS filings.
