Preparing or coordinating copy and print jobs, reviewing for accuracy; and coordinating mail/shipping needs. Maintaining accurate and well-organized physical and electronic files. Displaying a cooperative spirit and fostering a positive work environment; working collaboratively as part of the support team, proactively backing up other department members; ensuring accuracy and completeness of all work being produced by a team of which the legal assistant is a part; assisting co-workers with overflow. BASIC KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department of a corporation. Lien & Billing Management: Verify medical billing balances and liens, request reductions from providers, and negotiate liens to maximize client recovery. Deadline & File Management: Track and meet all deadlines, maintain organized case files (electronic and paper), and ensure compliance with firm procedures. Attorney Support: Assist attorneys with case strategy, preparation, and advocacy, including research and case summaries. 1. Bates Numbering: - Perform Bates numbering for trial documents. 2. Setting up Exhibits: - Prepare and organize exhibits for trial presentations. 3.Working with Expert Witnesses: - Collaborate with expert witnesses to prepare for trial. 4.
