What You'll Do
Lead the EDRM from preservation to production: implement legal holds, conduct custodian interviews, coordinate collections (email, collaboration suites, mobile/cloud), process/cull data, manage review workflows, and QC productions and privilege logs.
Build and optimize technology-enabled reviews using platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, Nuix, and Everlaw; apply analytics (email threading, near-duplication, clustering/TAR) to reduce cost and cycle time.
Draft and negotiate ESI protocols; map metadata fields, validate load files, and maintain chain-of-custody and audit trails.
Support traditional discovery and motion practice: prepare responses, privilege logs, deposition/exhibit sets, and trial/arbitration binders.
Handle court filings in Illinois and federal courts (Odyssey e-file, PACER) and manage associated deadlines and notices.
Construction law plus: assist with contract and change-order documentation, lien waivers/mechanics' liens, project record organization, and targeted research on construction-specific issues.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of paralegal experience focused on e-discovery in litigation; defense experience and construction-related matters are a strong plus.
Hands-on expertise with leading e-discovery platforms (Relativity, DISCO, Nuix, Everlaw) and comfort with analytics/TAR.
Deep knowledge of ESI best practices and the EDRM, including legal holds, collections, processing, review management, productions, and defensible documentation.
Excellent organization and communication skills; ability to thrive in fast-moving matters and collaborate cross-functionally.

Position Overview

Job DescriptionDescriptionJob Purpose: Prepare correspondence, memoranda and time records as well as perform a variety of secretarial duties for attorneys to whom you are assigned according to established policies and procedures. Maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys and administrative professionals and observe confidentiality of client matters. Work in a collaborative team environment.
Working with us, you will:
Prepare and proof correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents; ensure that attorney time sheets are submitted timely; maintain records and filing system; and handle projects that may be complex in nature.
Process bills; proof billing sheets; and review and edit bills.
Set up and maintain client and firm files; manage daily mail; request conflict of interest checks; and maintain respective attorney calendars and deadline reminder systems.
Receive clients and visitors; maintain good public relations with clients; and observe confidentiality of attorney-client relationship.
Work with junior and senior level attorneys.
Work closely with administrative professionals (word processing, office services, receptionists, etc.)
Perform legal assistant duties as requested.
An ideal candidate:
At least 3 years of legal secretarial experience supporting senior level attorneys, preferably in more than one practice area such as litigation, corporate or employment law.
Ability to transcribe legal documents, correspondence and reports from rough drafts or dictation proficiently and accurately.
Excellent proof-reading abilities for law office correspondence and transactional documents and the ability to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations when verifying calculations on forms and documents.
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
Excellent interpersonal skills - one who can communicate effectively in a courteous and diplomatic fashion, since you will work with a diverse group of clients and vendors, attorneys and other team members.
