The NJASAP Paralegal will support the union's legal and contract administration functions by assisting with administrative tasks specific to the minor dispute resolution process, supporting the Union's Contract Administration Team and conducting research related to collective bargaining agreements and labor law. This role works closely with the NJASAP Contract Administration Team, which is comprised of attorneys, consultants and compliance subject matter experts, who are tasked with ensuring compliance with negotiated agreements and protecting members' rights under those agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal and administrative support related to collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), including maintaining organized contract records.
Track grievances, grievance appeals, arbitrations, and related timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
Help prepare materials for grievance hearings, mediations and arbitration proceedings.
Proofread correspondence, grievances, memoranda, settlement agreements and arbitration briefs.

Outreach Paralegal
Each year more than 30,000 farmworkers and family members work in Ohio in agricultural labor. They work in many hand-harvest crops, including cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuces, onions, radishes, and peppers. They also work in various packing sheds, grading stations, and food processing plants.
Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc., a non-profit law firm that provides free legal assistance to low-income farm workers throughout Ohio, seeks an Outreach Paralegal for its Agricultural Worker Program in its Findlay office. The Outreach Paralegal will provide general legal support for attorneys, including client communication, research, case investigation, and other case-related tasks; conduct informational presentations for farmworkers and farmworker advocates; develop and maintain working relationships with community-based organizations, social service agencies, government agencies, and other groups; train staff and volunteers to conduct client education; develop and implement an effective plan for outreach to labor camps and other sites where farmworkers live or gather; and take applications for legal assistance. Applicants must have excellent organizational and writing skills; the ability to relate well with low-income clients; computer proficiency; and a strong commitment to equal justice. Fluency in Spanish, both oral and written, is required. Some evening, weekend, and overnight work required. This position requires significant travel to various outreach activities.
