As Production Associate you will be responsible for sets up and controls operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of manufacturing products. Must work overtime when necessary. Must be able to work in teams on continuous improvement projects.
So, what will you be doing as a Production Associate?
* The job is a standing/sitting job requiring the operation of a grid/lumbar assembly machine. The machine processes straight wire to form a mat, which is used in the assembly of automotive seating.
* The operator is responsible for producing quality product and must be able to identify such. If necessary, the operator must be able to notify appropriate person to fix machine.
* Performs any other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed.
* Basic knowledge of hand tools and use
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
* Ability to understand instruction both verbal and written. This includes the ability with proper training to follow construction blueprints and document ongoing processes.
* Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.
* Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds.
* Ability to roll drums weighing 500 pounds.
* Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.
* The willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts of which are included TS-16949, Kaizen, and SMED.

Essential Responsibilities
* Fabricate parts to blueprint specifications using various machining, welding, and forming equipment
* Assist in building engineering prototypes, samples, test fixtures, and tooling
* Set up and perform testing for prototypes as well as prototype inspections and documentation
* Assemble and modify mechanical components from existing products
* Assist Project Engineers in performing tests of complete prototype or production units and components under operational conditions

* Additional duties may include shipping and receiving, local delivery and warehouse operations
Requirements
* Operate forklifts, milling machines, manual lathes as well as MIG, TIG and Arc Welders

* Vocational training/certifications from an accredited learning institution in machining, fabrication, or equivalent experience
* Ability to use desktop PCs and Microsoft Suite

* Gather data as needed; oversee process improvements and any other needs associated with continuous improvement.
* Help ensure that Branch One meets Corporate Quality Assurance guidelines.
* Help ensure that Branch One meets and maintains our ISO 9001:2015 Management System Standards.
* Verify the calibration of scales and gauges as needed.
* Analyze and resolve quality issues as they develop including customer complaints and CARS.
* Inspect different items or loads of merchandise going to customers as needed.
* Assist with the analysis and document reasons for returns at Branch One.
* Responsible for inspecting/re-opening of crates, and roll openings, which are scheduled and have been crated or rolled.
* Assist all supervisors to ensure that products are made according to specifications.
* Assist employees with specifications on quality problems.
* Use SPC guidelines to gather pertinent information about quality.
* Ensure all supervisors in all departments are performing quality checks.
* Evaluate Branch One inventory as needed.
* Responsible for performing activities related to special processes and special studies and their effects on products.
* Responsible for rejecting all improperly packaged product in all departments.
* Reject and write up wire return documents to Wire Mill (0400).
* Evaluate Infinity checks and issue non-conformance reports on quality issues discovered.
* Perform ISO 9001:2015 audits on a scheduled basis; in addition to the lead auditor duties.
* Perform 1st piece approvals on product after changeovers.
* Perform capability studies on all new products and report their capability indexes to the Quality Systems Manager.
* Reject and write up Clips Returns documents to Vertex.
* Complete FAA, PPAP, and Beta runs.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Intimate knowledge of the manufacturing process used by the company.
* Product familiarity, including the product structures.
* Good computer skills. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to exemplify a cooperative attitude necessary to work with all departments and management team.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

* Prepare test procedures and protocols for technicians
* Document test results and generate high level summary reports
* Work with others outside of engineering (i.e. manufacturing, purchasing, vendors, etc.)
* Review product design for compliance with electrical engineering principles
* Knowledgeable of UL, NEC, NFPA, and CE standards and work with Test Laboratories on getting product certified
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* 2-3 years Electrical Engineering experience
* Demonstrated experience in many of the listed responsibilities
* Willing to travel domestically and internationally, and communicate and interact effectively with customers and suppliers
Things we consider a plus:
* Hands on experience in troubleshooting servo systems, electro-mechanical systems, test engineering
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
* Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical departments
* Self-motivated, organized, attentive to detail
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
