The MaintenanceTechnician is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, facilities, grounds, and general building maintenance using a wide range of techniques and specialties.
Duties/Responsibilities: • Maintain a high degree of quality and safety. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and logic systems. • Must work closely with site safety to assure compliance with OSHA and Federal Regulations. • Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment • Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk • Ability to train, instruct and assist trainees through the training period. • Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S projects • Document all work in CMMS (work order system) as required. • Required to work with variety of hand tools including welding and power brake presses. • Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner • Diagnose, isolate and correct electrical troubles to involve repair and replacements of controls, motors, switches, devices, and gears, re-routing of circuits and distribution centers to balance loads, etc. • Responsible for securing, leveling, aligning and the mechanical hookups during machine installations. • Install and wire centralized control panels, layout and wire distribution centers and circuits, machine tool controls and switches, electrical control and timing devices, lighting systems, etc., to conform with involved engineering specifications and schematic drawings. • Install and maintain the electrical systems of the plant to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting, facilities and other electrical apparatus and gear. • Make emergency repairs when necessary to offset excessive downtime and production delays. • Required to perform machine repair work as indicated. • Must have the ability to take projects from perception or idea without a blueprint to completion, developing diagram as wok progresses. Use power tools, bench tools, wrenches, carpentry, etc. • Fabrication and welding of metal structures. • Will perform other tasks as directed my plant supervision
Required Skills/Abilities: • Able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards • Complete certification and be issued a forklift and equipment license • Able to reach, bend, twist, reach overhead, and operate equipment; climb platforms or scaffolding and work at ceiling heights • Basic computer skills • Ability to regularly lift 40 lbs. and occasionally lift to 70 lbs. • Good verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience: • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent • Associates degree, maintenance certification (or working toward degreed program) (preferred) • 2-5 years' experience in maintenance related field Physical Requirements: • Fumes, dust, oils, outside during hot and cold weather months • Extended periods of standing/walking for 8 hours per day • Must be able to work in fluctuating hot and cold work environment • May be required to work daily overtime / weekends / holidays to support business needs

General Maintenance
Job Description & Requirements
Performs general maintenance and cleaning work. Performs all general tasks relating to maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment maintenance. Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems, electrical problems and mechanical failures to machines, equipment and buildings. Prepare and paint all types of machinery, office equipment, factory facilities and buildings.
Must have experience as a general maintenance person or a minimum of four to five years' experience in the building, grounds, and equipment maintenance area.
Must have the experience and knowledge in the following areas: Carpentry, masonry, pipe fitting, welding, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, and pneumatic equipment.
Must be able to establish working procedures to carry out diversified tasks in the most efficient manner.
Must be physically capable of performing the tasks required in this job (i.e., comfortable working at heights).
Must have the aptitude for & ability to acquire a basic knowledge of maintenance work & tools.
Working Procedures
* Works under general supervision
* Works in the following areas as required: Carpentry, masonry, pipe fitting, welding, plumbing, minor repairs to heating and air conditioning equipment, low pressure hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and machinery moving.
* Assists in loading or unloading machinery, equipment, or material.
* Moves stock, chips, shavings, or other related tasks.
* Cleans machinery, equipment, or building fixtures as needed
* Assists in various building, grounds, and equipment maintenance functions as directed by supervision.
* Determines proper method or chemicals to be used to prepare area or objects for painting.
* Prepares area or objects to be painted by cleaning, scraping, washing, sanding, etc.
* Selects and mixes proper primers and paints to proper consistency depending on method of application.
* Applies paint by appropriate method for job, airless spraying, conventional spraying, roller or brush.
* Applies drywall and patching compounds.
* Must troubleshoot and repair various types of hydraulic systems.
* Must be capable of troubleshooting. Must be capable of performing related maintenance in connection with the general maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment.
* Must interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, sketches and written or oral instructions. Must be able to operate various tools required to perform the above tasks.
