In this role, the Electrical Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting the Product Development Team in development and analysis of simple electronic designs and documentation. Functions include working with Design Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Engineering Managers on assignments that support proof of concept designs, testing of products, maintenance of products, customer related issues and general electrical engineering challenges. Main Job Duties: • Design, build, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical components, sub-assemblies and products • Modeling and documenting design elements for engineering solutions • Creating testing environments for products, conducting the tests and documenting results • Reviewing product standards and updating as required • Working on manufacturing floor to solve design related issues Qualifications Education: • Currently enrolled in, or recently, completed BS Electrical Engineering • College Junior or higher preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: • Creative approach to problem solving based on solid theoretical engineering skill. • Hands on experience on electrical lab tools such as oscilloscope, power supplies, function generation, etc. is preferred. • Breadboard & prototype PCB design experience is expected • Good theoretical background on transformer, AC system, and power electronics is a plus • Willing to provide engineering support required to sustain current product offering as well as evaluate new product designs. This includes performing product testing in the laboratory. • Understanding of electronic theories and electronic circuit design principles (digital, analog, mixed signal, power, high-speed, low-noise circuits and requirements) • Understanding of good EMC circuit design principles • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Must have an acceptable level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment. • Must be able to contribute to several projects at a time. • Prepare written and verbal reports. • Conduct engineering studies/investigations.
