Summary
Perform diagnostic CT and radiologic quality imaging under the direction of a physician using professional judgement while maintaining proper technical and radiation quality standards. Provides courteous and professional delivery of imaging procedures while adhering to radiation safety precautions to promote patient satisfaction. Supports patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding PHI and HIPPA related information. Works in a hospital facility that offers full hospital services. Provides direct patient care to high acuity patients encompassing emergency, inpatient and outpatient classes supporting up to and including trauma and ICU.
Job Duties
• Performs all types of imaging procedures & operates all equipment safely and properly including imaging equipment, injectors, & monitors.
• Reviews images of all exams, repeating as necessary to providing radiation protection in accordance with safety standards for best possible results.
• Communicates with the patient by addressing the patient by name, introducing self to the patient, explaining the exam in lay terms and keeping the patient Informed of exam progress.
• Ensures appropriate exam is ordered and images are delivered to the correct patient folder in PACS.
• Document LMP, fluoro time, number of images, appropriate history and any adverse reaction to contrast media or change in patient's condition.
• Prepares patients for imaging procedures by reviewing patient chart/script to verify pertinent information, assess patient's needs, medical history, and provides patient education.
• Attends department meetings or other mandatory meetings, assist with education and training of new employees, students and other ancillary personnel with a positive attitude.
• Ensures coordination of daily work duties with the team and coordinates timing of exams.
• Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the immediate work area.
Minimum Qualifications
• Technical School Diploma Graduate of accredited Radiography program or equivalent
• 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist and
• 1 year experience as a CT technologist
• Ability to provide proper patient care essential to radiologic procedures.
• Knowledge and skills to perform all imaging exams on patients of all ages, adapting to various protocols.
• Proficient use of the advanced software for CT scanning and post procedure processing applications.
• Strong aptitude for CT technology.
• Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and upbeat demeanor.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
• CT - Computed Tomography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate's Degree Graduate of Health Science program
• Knowledge and skills to perform venipuncture.
Physical Demands
Lift and carrylbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

The Correspondence Technician shall processes all release of information requests sent to the Medical Records Department. Coordinates requests from Finance Department and all other departments within the hospital. Processes the release of Radiology film and reports for Allentown and Bethlehem campuses. Maintains computerized release of information system that logs all activities in the release of information area. Acts as hospital custodian of medical records for depositions, court proceedings and legal matters. Responsible for maintenance and control of fax machines and CD burners and ordering supplies for copy machine, fax machines and CD burners. Coordinates release of information procedures with the outside service utilized for all billable requests.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for and coordinates the entire release of information process among the inpatient and outpatient records.
Acts as liaison between the Medical Records Department and risk manager when dealing with attorney requests; court orders; subpoenas; litigation and/or other potential risk areas.
Coordinates work with the outside service utilized for all billable requests. Logs requests upon receipt for processing.
Responsible for maintaining and keeping current the computerized correspondence tracking system. Ensures that all requests are logged in the system.
Responsible for adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding release of information.
Responsible for adhering to the regulations for the release of information as it relates to HIV/AIDS; psychiatric patients; drug and alcohol patients.
Responsible for ascertaining the validity of authorizations received in the department. Returns invalid authorizations.
Responds to telephone requests from the patient care units, emergency department and other department customers.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. May require occasional standing/walking for up to 1 hour per day, 30 minutes at a time. Frequently uses fingers for data entry. Frequent use of hands. Uses upper extremities to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds. May require stooping, bending and/or reaching above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony. May look at pc for long periods of time.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an AHIMA approved Accredited Record Technician, RHIT program or a two year legal secretarial program preferred. Working experience in confidentiality/release of information areas preferred.

Minimum of 1 year in the field preferred.

The Mammography/Dexa Scan Technologist performs screening and diagnostic mammographic and bone densitometry examinations on patients based on department procedures.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the successful technical continuity of care for patients during mammography and DXA procedures.
Communicates to radiologists/surgeons clinical observation made during mammographic/ bone densitometry examinations. Presents clinical history as recorded on appropriate documentation to radiologist.
Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS/PACS and the mammography reader system appropriate to their job responsibilities and is accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS.
Teaches and trains students in their specified technology, if site applicable.
Maintains ACR mammography quality assurance criteria.
Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.
Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination.
Knowledgeable regarding patient condition, history and appropriate background and information pertinent to proposed examination.
Communicates and interacts professionally with patients/patients' families, peers, supervisors and physicians.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to 1 hour at a time per day, standing for up to 1 hour at a time per day, walking for up to 7 hours per day (up to 50 minutes at a time). Frequent fingering, handling and grasping with hands. Frequent use of upper extremities for lifting objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds. Frequent holding of objects of up to 10 pounds. Frequent pushing against objects which weigh up to 100 pounds (objects are usually on wheels) and frequent pulling of objects which weigh up to 350 pounds. Frequent stooping/bending and reaching above the shoulder level and occasional crouching. Hearing both high and low frequencies, and volumes ranging from very soft to that of normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, color vision and depth perception.
EDUCATION:
Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered in Radiography, Mammography, and Dexa. (Dexa registry required within one year of hire). Current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (with NJ Department of Environmental Protection) if applicable. Must maintain advanced registry in Mammography and Dexa.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Staff radiology technologist experience preferred with ongoing training in department procedures. Minimum of 2-years' experience in mammography preferred, with ongoing training in department procedures. Minimum of 2-years' experience in DXA imaging preferred, with ongoing training in department procedures. Computer experience preferred. Current CPR certification required. Knowledge of PACS, HIS/RIS and EPIC systems preferred.
