    The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking a Drafting Engineer to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area - Engineering Services Group located in the FAA's Atlanta Office. The candidate will support the FAA's Engineering Services team by applying broad experience and advanced technical knowledge on multiple, varying, and complex assignments. It is necessary to plan, coordinate and perform work with a high degree of independence, while keeping the Project Engineer advised of significant problem areas. Primary Responsibilities: Provide technical support to the Engineering Center, for the accomplishment of project engineering packages by developing site-specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance. Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all (state, local, federal, FAA, etc.) standards, construction codes and ordinances. Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during the site survey. Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion. Reports will include compiled and completed project documents as follows: Scope of work and project transmittal. Drawing and specification lists. Operational Risk Management checklists. Furnish information required for the preparation of Purchase Requests (PR) for assigned projects. Furnish information required for the preparation of NAS Change Proposals (NCP) for assigned projects. List of Government furnished properties. Prepare Airspace case documents. Assessment of engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program Project checklists. Drawings and specifications. Engineering cost estimate for project plans per FAA Standard/guidelines. Estimated completion time and project schedule. Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e., evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents). Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering. Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit. Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines. Required Qualifications: BS Degree in Engineering disciplines of Civil, Electrical, Architect and 2-4 years' experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Building Envelop Design. Proficiency with AutoCAD/MicroStation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites. Ability to Obtain a Public Trust Clearance. What You Will Be Doing -Perform reliability and maintainability allocations and generate accurate predictions for new systems. -Develop and analyze Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) to identify and mitigate risks early in the design cycle. -Create mission‑success and system‑reliability analyses that drive design decisions and ensure operational readiness. -Support FRACAS activities, capturing field failures, performing root‑cause analysis, and driving corrective actions. -Conduct Maintenance Task Analyses (MTA) and assist with maintainability demonstrations to verify supportability requirements. -Participate in testability evaluations and demonstrations, ensuring designs can be efficiently verified and validated. -Apply key R&M standards (MIL‑HDBK‑338, MIL‑HDBK‑472, MIL‑STD‑2155, MIL‑HDBK‑217F) to all analyses and documentation. -Communicate technical findings clearly, building trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. -Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), program management, suppliers, and customers on all R&M aspects of assigned systems, fostering a seamless multi‑disciplinary environment. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree • Five or more years of professional experience in Reliability and Maintainability engineering or closely related specialties • Demonstrated expertise with R&M analyses such as reliability predictions, maintainability analyses, FMECA, mission success modeling, and FRACAS • Experience developing solutions to complex, system-level engineering problems with minimal oversight • Proven ability to guide technical efforts, lead segments of major projects, and influence engineering decisions across integrated teams. • Familiarity with key R&M standards and guidance such as MIL-HDBK-338, MIL-HDBK-472, MIL-STD-2155, MIL-STD-1629, or MIL-HDBK-217F • Ability to engage effectively with senior engineers, program leadership, and customers on significant technical matters Desired skills • Strong background in reliability and maintainability engineering, including experience with reliability predictions, maintainability analysis, derating, failure modeling, and mission success assessments • Experience developing or interpreting Logistics Product Data (LPD) and familiarity with GEIA-STD-0007 and related sustainment standards • Solid understanding of supportability analysis and maintenance concepts for complex aerospace systems • Demonstrated experience performing or reviewing FMECA, MTA, fault tree analysis, reliability block diagrams, or testability analysis • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience, especially modeling in tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler • Experience with computer system administration or network administration • Ability to perform on cross-functional technical efforts, mentor junior engineers, and drive closure on complex R&M issues • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with customers, suppliers, IPTs, and senior leadership • Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer.
