The Security Engineering Program (SEP) under Homeland and Force Protectionat Leidos currently has an opening within the Professional Services Support (PSS) Program for a Radio Communications Technician.The candidate is responsible for providing remote and on-site service, repair, and installation support for existing hardware, software, communication network configurations, and new system initiatives across all locations within their area of responsibility. Requires expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. This position will be based out of either Atlanta, GA or San Antionio TX.
Primary Responsibilities
This candidate will diagnose mechanical or technical deviations from performance specifications using established procedures and prepare reports to analyze failure trends and serviceability issues.
Duties will include managing, handling, and disposition/administration of Communications Security (COMSEC) material.
Their responsibilities may include providing on-site support services and assisting in the development and implementation of area-wide procedural/policy changes. The candidate will be responsible for entire projects or processes within their professional area and typically be accountable for coaching and reviewing the work of their peers. They will develop technical solutions to complex technical problems that require collaboration with internal experts and perform deep analyses of the impact on the product/solution. This position is expected to be around 25% travel, with an initial peak of around 40% travel.
Basic Qualifications
+ The candidate must possess a minimum TS Clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a program SCI.
+ Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.
+ Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with telecommunications, electrical, computer engineering, and related communication technologies, including system operations, engineering, design, installation, repair, and analysis
+ Expertise with VSAT and mobile satellite platforms that support multimedia PTT and PTM communication
+ Experience operating and programming, UHF, VHF 700/800 MHz in conventional and non-truncated modes
+ Experience in Communications Security (COMSEC) account management
+ Experience in working with wireless/wired telecommunications technologies and platforms; interfacing commercial carrier representatives and articulating telecommunication service requests at a very technical level; and utilizing project management competencies in determining the applicable scope of work, material and equipment procurement, scheduling, and budgets for assigned projects.
+ Must have normal color vision.
+ Must be able to maintain a valid Driver's License
+ Able to constantly stand to perform maintenance tasks for extended periods; frequently walk to access work sites while maintaining balance on uneven surfaces; make frequent coordinated hand movements to grasp, place, or move objects.
+ Able to occasionally bend, stoop, and kneel; climb to access equipment, use ladders, and use lift carts; lift and carry objects weighing up to forty-five (45) pounds a minimum of twenty (20) feet; push and pull objects weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Basic Qualifications
Four (4) months of previous experience in production assembly-type work OR Four (4) months of previous mechanical experience such as automotive/HVAC repair, construction, and bench assembly work. Must be able to read assembly blueprints. Must be familiar with basic hand tools. Must pass all testing while in training and the hands on Proficiency Demonstrations.
The Aircraft Manufacturing Training Program will train to perform structural work on the C-130 aircraft in accordance with technical data. The applicant will receive related instruction (RI) and on the job learning (OJL) to include assembly and installation, repair, and inspection of structural, electrical, and mechanical elements of an aircraft while performing direct tasks for the program. The applicant will be expected to perform repetitive and non-repetitive operations after completing training with some assistance and supervision. Works from blueprints, diagrams, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools to perform work according to technical data. Must be able to read and speak English, comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must perform and pass required proficiency assessments/demonstrations.
For consideration in the program, candidates must enroll in the AMTP program offered through Chattahoochee Technical College. Tuition costs may apply, but in-state financial aid and grants may be available to qualifying candidates. Candidates are responsible for submitting the aid application through the Chattahoochee Technical College process for eligibility verification. The program is a 10 week training program and requires the successful completion of all training classes delivered, a hands-on proficiency demonstration in week four in order to be considered for hire. Upon hire candidates must successfully complete all training classes and pass a hands-on proficiency demonstration during week eight in order to retain employment. All training will be conducted at the Chattahoochee Tech Aviation Academy located at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport during first shift hours. Upon hire, the employment location will be 86 South Cobb Drive, Marietta, GA 30060.
Must be flexible and available to work first or second shift schedules. Work schedules are Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day. Start times may vary depending on the assigned work area, but the standard first and second shifts begin 5:30 am - 4:00 pm and 4:00 pm - 2:30 am. AMTP training times may vary.

The Challenge:
