    Job Title: Campus Safety Officer Reports To: Director, Campus Safety Department: Campus Safety Classification: Full-Time (Benefits Eligible) & Part-Time, Non-exempt, 12-months LeMoyne-Owen College is in search of committed public safety officers to ensure the safety and security of the faculty, staff, students, and property. The campus safety officer's duties include patrolling assigned areas, extensive observation, and investigating suspicious behavior, enforcing policy, apprehending suspects, and preparing incident reports. To be successful as a campus safety officer you should be able to work collaboratively with all team members of the public safety department. An outstanding campus safety officer should be highly attentive to irregularities and capable of sound judgment in demanding situations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensuring the safety and security of people and property Patrolling designated areas and responding to calls Investigating and reporting suspicious incidents Securing and recording evidence Interviewing witnesses and victims Apprehending suspects and perpetrators Directing traffic and maintaining order at public gatherings Preparing accident and crime reports Assisting the public with criminal and civil issues or questions Providing support to the local enforcement community as needed (i.e., MPD, Sheriff and TBI) MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS High school diploma/GED Some College Preferred, but not required Ability to acquire state of TN armed guard license (if applying for armed position) KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Effective communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Good observation and decision-making skills Working knowledge of laws and law enforcement practices Physical dexterity Ability to cooperate and work well with team members WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is normally performed in a typical indoor and outdoor setting with occasional extensive walking, and or standing. The employee, frequently, is required to walk, stand, reach and lift (50) pounds. The public safety officer must present a professional appearance, wearing a uniform approved by Campus Safety Director.     East Tennessee State University (ETSU) invites applications and nominations for the next College of Nursing Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship (ADRS). ETSU is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader who, in coordination with the Dean, will foster the College's leadership role in the state and nation, leading dedicated faculty in their quest for innovation and excellence in research. The Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship will provide administrative leadership and facilitate the development of faculty and research, scholarship, and program grants through the Center for Nursing Research. This position is responsible for building research infrastructure that supports faculty and staff in obtaining extramural funding, conducting high-impact research, and advancing scholarship aligned with the College of Nursing's mission. Additionally, this individual will play a crucial role in facilitating, assisting, and mentoring faculty in developing and managing program grants that support education, training, and service initiatives within the College. The Associate Dean will also foster inter-institutional research partnerships, mentor faculty in developing research and grant proposals, and ensure compliance with university and funding guidelines. This position requires teaching, research and service duties to be conducted in person on campus. Remote or hybrid work options are not available. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Extensive contemporary knowledge and research experience in nursing or interdisciplinary research. Demonstrated and sustained record of scholarship documented by high-impact, highly cited peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations at national and international forums. Proven experience in collecting and analyzing data and making data-based decisions. Ability to build collaborations and coordinate multiple programs and initiatives among faculty, academic, administrative, and community constituents. Exemplary record of securing external/extramural funding, ideally from federal agencies (e.g., National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Services Administration, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) or national foundations (e.g., American Nurses Foundation). Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines related to research. Knowledge of and experience with research compliance, indirect costs, effort reporting, responsible conduct of research, federal and state grant regulations, and human subjects/animal research compliance. Ability to educate, mentor, and support faculty, staff, and students regarding research. Experience in leading faculty mentorship programs in research and grant development. Required Qualifications PhD in Nursing or related field. Eligible for tenure at the Associate Professor level or above. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee or compact state. Demonstrated history of successful extramural funding and publications. Effective communication and leadership skills. Evidence of progressive leadership responsibilities in academic research administration. Graduate degree in Nursing. Demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to the profession. Conduct both walking and mobile patrols of interior and exterior locations/areas of the campus and remain highly visible.
