Position Summary:
Provide leadership and management of the quality function at the facility, in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies, and procedures. Responsible for ensuring that quality program policies, plans, standards and requirements are met at the facility.

Essential Functions:
* Assure quality requirements are adequately defined at all functional levels to permit appropriate quality planning and verification of compliance. Coordinate TQM efforts across business units.
* Identify, develop and implement new methods of quality management and systems, and audit existing systems to meet division initiatives, ISO9000, and other customer requirements.
* Provide quality oriented leadership in achieving facility quality objectives. Interfaces with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive responses and technical assistance regarding quality systems and/or products.
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance activities for all purchased material, equipment, parts, and processing. Manage supplier quality audits and corrective action plans. Integrate and monitor supplier quality performance with divisional objectives.

Qualifications:

Job Summary:
This position provides quality leadership and has full responsibility for Quality at Elyria Site regarding the Quality Management System (QMS), customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, for product life cycle from Product development, Production, Supply Chain to Aftermarket.

Job Duties:
Establish a zero defect culture by leading the deployment and continuous improvement of Quality Strategy based on AS9100 Quality Systems - Aerospace and AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning
Achieve leading customer performance ratings through the implementation of Crane Business System and QMS, driving improvement in key customer metrics.
Proactive approach with an effective accountability process is in place enabling prevention and control, drive accountability for daily performance and problem solving of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety/quality/delivery/cost/growth
Develop and implement a quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives and lead the efforts to integrate quality into development of short and long terms business plans, operating budget responsibility
Ensure compliance with Crane Aerospace and Electronics QMS, customer and industry specific quality requirements by establishing an effective internal audit and assessment, robust corrective action process to validate and improve system effectiveness
Ensure the effectiveness of measurement and monitoring systems to achieve improvement in Site business key metrics and quality processes key metrics.
Ensure Advanced Quality Planning using AS9145 in Product Development Process (PDP). Utilize the quality function to provide oversight and enhancements to the PDP to verify appropriate processes and procedures are being followed to ensure customer performance measures are met and an zero defect transition in to production takes place.
Effectively manages the supply chain quality performance over the lifecycle. Ensure that the quality of purchased materials meets requirements and comply with applicable regulations, preferred experience with castings commodity.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ME, MSc.) from an accredited institution
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality in Aerospace and Defense, additional Automotive experience is a plus.
5+ years in a management role
FAA requirements Title 14 CFR 21 (FSDO), Repair Station Title 14 CFR 145 experience (MIDO)
Expert level of leadership within problem solving, 6 Sigma, AS9145 APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, process control plans, process capability
Experience with AS9100D QMS and in Engine customer specific quality standards - Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, GE, Safran, CFM
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources
Leadership and people development, roll up sleeves, establish a culture of quality integration into the daily production issues and product development, and develop his or her staff to work similarly
Collaborative relationship with other functions focused on finding solutions that meet both our (internal and external) quality requirements and business objectives
Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving ability with a bias toward sense of urgency.
Travel up to 10% may be required.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Supports internal and external customers through the development and facilitation of the CP&S Quality Management System. The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that all purchased components and materials meet Crane Pumps & Systems' quality standards. This role focuses on supplier audits, assessments, quality control, inspection, issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement through collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers. The SQE will monitor supplier performance using key quality metrics and lead initiatives to enhance supplier capability and compliance. The role also includes problems solving throughout company processes with the emphasis on documenting and following up on root cause analysis and associated actions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Develop, maintain, and audit the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Lead efforts in System Controls, including Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, Control Plans, Operator Job Instructions, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Participate in ISO certification processes and other third-party compliance objectives for Crane Pumps & Systems.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and maintain the QMS, including supplier quality integration.
Design and implement procedures, forms, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Develop and maintain third-party certifications, PPAP documentation, and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
Establish standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of materials and components.
Investigate quality issues using Crane Business Systems Problem-Solving Methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and ensure corrective actions are implemented and validated.
Support the CAPA process and drive corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and internal teams.
Plan, schedule, and conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with Crane standards and regulatory requirements.
Define and implement incoming inspection criteria for purchased components.
Review and approve supplier-provided quality documentation, including PPAP, FAIs, and certifications.
Track and report supplier performance metrics, such as PPM, On-Time Delivery, Audit Scores, and Corrective Action Closure Rate.
Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to align supplier quality objectives with business goals.
Provide technical support during new product development and supplier onboarding.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support quality and business objectives.
Provide on‑site support through national and international travel as required by project and organizational priorities.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field is required.
Three years manufacturing/quality engineering experience required. Experience with assembly and machining preferred.
ISO/AS/TS experience in leading an organization to certification preferred.
Demonstrated problem solving experience using appropriate metrics to monitor processes and make appropriate recommendations for problem resolution.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ASQ standards, and quality tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA).
Requires a high degree of oral and written communication skills for interaction with engineering, manufacturing and other production support personnel.
Ability to work steadily at routine tasks until completion; does not give up, tries alternative approaches when confronted with obstacles; works diligently to achieve objectives.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Materials and Processes research and development of new configuration, new product and development or introduction for thermal management and gas turbine fuel systems including manifolds, valves and fuel nozzles utilizing state of the art materials and joining processes.
* Subject matter expertise in heat treatment, vacuum and induction brazing, GTAW, EB and Laser welding, forgings, castings, coatings and chemical processing methods.
* Support materials issues, metallographic preparation and evaluation, SEM/EDS, materials failure investigation and analysis, fatigue, stress, fracture mechanism, fractorgraphy corrosion analysis, knowledge with ability to provide support to other engineering disciplines as well as management and customers.
* Thorough understanding of all metallurgical aspects of Iron-base alloys, Stainless steels, Ni, Co, Ti Al and composite materials.
* Knowledge and acumen within raw material processing of metallics, ceramics and composites, additive manufacturing of materials including stainless steels Aluminum, Ni-base superalloys and non-metallics.
* Interface with customers offering guidance and manufacturability on materials and process as it relates to customer systems or interface condition and environments.
* Support production operation with improving process yields and reducing scrap through lab and 6-sigma driven investigations.
* Write comprehensive, detailed and concise reports that include preparation and delivery in MS Office applications and deliver through stand up or vitual presentations.

* Support the day to day operations
* Scope, order and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment;
* Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
* Direct cross functional process improvement projects with the assistance of team members from all aspects of the division.
* Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as Standard operating procedures, Control Plans, and FMEAs
* Provide a critical link between the department and other process partners such as product design, assembly, paint, maintenance, safety, quality, etc.
* Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis working with the team.
* Implement cost saving projects and special assignments as required
Minimum requirements
* Bachelor's Degree
* 2+ years of Manufacturing experience in an Engineering role
Preferred skills and experiences
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
* Backshop experience (CNC, Automation, Polishers, Robots etc)
* Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes
* Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
* Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization
* Strong mechanical knowledge
* Excellent planning, project management and leadership skills
* Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills
* Experience in a manufacturing related environment with a good understanding of plant operations
* Solid decision-making and judgment skills
* Controls and robotics experience
* Proven problem solving skills - Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
