Title: Coating Technician
Shift: 2nd & 3rd Shifts available with a 10% shift differential
Immune Specific Accountabilities
- Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
- Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
- Recognizes and understands the Just Culture policy.
Specific Accountabilities
- Selects, prepares and mixes solutions or coatings according to formulas and specifications and creates spray recipes and sequences for spraying.
- Plans, develops, writes, revises, documents, tests, implements and controls programs for robots as applicable.
- Operates blasting equipment to clean and prepare the surface of materials and components.
- Prepares and masks parts with fixtures, rubber, tape, tafa, antibond or metal masks prior to coating.
- Sets up and operates various types of manual, semi-automatic and/or robotic spray systems to apply substances to parts.
- Sets bake/cure oven controls for correct temperature and records time on process charts.
- Removes masking, cleans overspray and washes parts.
- Inspects surfaces visually for defects and compliance with specifications using micrometers, calipers, elcometers, profilometers, or related devices prior to and after applying coating.
- Cleans and maintains spray/coating equipment, fixtures and blast cabinets.
- Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.
- Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
- Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
- Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements
- Attainment of applicable internal process stamp(s).
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
- Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels.
- Working knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
- Regularly required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.

LSI ADL Technology, a subsidiary of LSI Industries is looking for a Coating Tech to add to our Inventory team at our Columbus, Ohio location.

LSI ADL Technology is an Electronics Manufacturing Services company based in Columbus, Ohio producing Circuit Board Assemblies, Box Build and Cable Assemblies in the Industrial OEM and Lighting markets. We services customers in the Columbus, OH region. Our production work ranges from running Surface Mount Technology Lines, Wave Solder Machines, Potting Machines and Wire Processing equipment in addition to Soldering, Manual Assembly, Conformal Coating & Testing of products. We also incorporate an Inventory Control team responsible for Receiving, Shipping & Materials management throughout the facility.

Job Summary

Encapsulate prepared printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies using coating and potting materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Coat and/or pot prepared printed circuit boards and various electronic assemblies.
* Setup/Repair Equipment such as spray gun, potting machines, etc.
* Use and/or read MSDS/TDS.
* Use masking materials to prepare electronic assemblies for coating and/or potting process.
* Remove masking materials from coated and/or potted electronic assemblies.
* Use of various hand tools, equipment, and materials to assemble, inspect, test, clean and perform other tasks necessary to prepare for shipment.
* Complete tasks as directed by production schedules with minimum supervision.
* Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment and follow prescribed regulations.
* Represent LSI Industries in the most positive manner with prospective, current and former employees, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
* Interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers.
* Learn and practice standard operating procedures.
* Maintain prompt and regular attendance based on the work hours established by management.
* Handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
* Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for an exceptional Manufacturing Coating Technician who can operate the coating chamber per the production schedule.
Your job:

+ Apply your skills to operate Coating Chambers with precisely defined configuration

+ Capture and analyze data, including yield trends, and deviations to uphold quality standards

+ Collaborate with the Thin Film Engineers to continuously improve processes

+ Contribute to the maintenance of procedural documentation

+ Operates and maintains production of vacuum coating chamber per productions schedule.

+ Cleaning and Inspecting parts both before and after deposition process.

+ Sets up coating chamber, this includes various coating process

What you will bring to the team, along with your curiosity:

+ High School diploma or GED

+ Minimum of 1+ year of related experience.

+ A desire to learn and grow your manufacturing career

+ Machine operating experience

+ Strong computer skills

+ Optics manufacturing environment experience is preferred
