1977

Founded in 1977, we’ve grown continuously and today employ hundreds of industry professionals in our Hoffman Estates and Chicago offices, as well as on job sites across the nation.

In 1977, entrepreneur Jim Leopardo started his own construction firm in Chicago and it didn’t take long for him to make an impressive impact on the industry.

1980

[Narrator] In the early 1980’s, Dale Russell published a paper about his theory and starting working with taxidermist and model maker, Ron Séguin, to produce models of Troodon and its evolved form: the dinosauroid.

1983

His career with Leopardo began in 1983 when he was hired as a laborer and the company’s fourth employee.

1987

Steve’s construction career spans decades and his tenure at Leopardo started when he joined the company as an intern in 1987.

1992

Bars, not leopard, in the Russian language (Heptner and Sludskii 1992)

1993

Matt joined Leopardo in 1993.

1998

Since its founding in 1998, the band has raised millions for various charities.

2003

Name derived from skins purchased in that country (Houssaye and Budd 2009)

2010

Revealing the Leopard (2010); PBS Nature film

In recognition of his industry pioneering, Jim was inducted into Midwest Real Estate News’ first-ever Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame in 2010.

2011

2013

2015

He was also included on the Crain’s Chicago Business 2015 list of Who’s Who in Chicago, a directory of the city’s “movers and shakers,” from Fortune 500 CEOs to civic leaders and philanthropists.

2016

Rick serves as executive vice president at Leopardo Companies and is one of the most prominent construction executives in the region, as supported by his 2016 induction to the Midwest Real Estate News Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame.

2018

In 2018, Mike was inducted into the Midwest Real Estate News Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame.

2019

By 2019 the species had lost up to 75 percent of its former range.

2021
