As a Technical Accounting Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering specialized accounting advisory services to our diverse and dynamic client base, including high-growth technology, biotechnology, professional services and consumer products companies. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring our clients receive expert guidance and outstanding service in complex accounting and financial reporting matters.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Work directly with clients and their external audit firms to lead and manage technical accounting advisory projects, covering areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), equity transactions, debt arrangements, business combinations, lease accounting (ASC 842), financial reporting, and SEC reporting
Serve as the primary client contact, managing engagements, fostering strong relationships, and proactively addressing client needs
Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the client's business and identify high-risk accounting areas
Oversee and manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications to ensure successful outcomes
Generate written components of various reports/deliverables related to engagements
Efficiently research technical accounting topics as it pertains to the engagement
Train, mentor, and develop staff and senior staff members, promoting a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth
Identify and implement technology solutions and tools to streamline processes and enhance workflow efficiency
Actively participate in thought leadership initiatives, contributing to internal knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement activities
Supporting business development efforts through client relationships and networking
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CFA, CIA, CISA, or CISSP certification BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business-related field
U.S. CPA certification
5+ years related experience
Significant technical accounting experience with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition, equity transactions, debt structures, leases, business combinations, and SEC reporting
IPO readiness or direct IPO experience highly desirable
Prior industry or operational experience in technology and/or biotechnology sectors is strongly preferred
Prior public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firms preferred)
Demonstrated success in managing client service, building strong relationships, and balancing multiple concurrent engagements
Tech-savvy with enthusiasm for experimenting with new technology tools and applications to optimize accounting processes and workflows
Experience identifying opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and AI tools into client service delivery and internal processes
Familiarity with workflow automation solutions (e.g., Alteryx, Power Automate, UiPath) and collaboration platforms is a plus
Knowledge of IFRS standards
Experience with technology systems / applications, such as data analytic tools or workflow automation tools.
Proficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
6 years of experience in related field
3 years of supervisory experience
Must have and preserve required licenses
Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Proficient use of applicable technology

Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant. The role is responsible for overseeing, managing, and ensuring accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting for capital projects and construction in progress (CIP) in compliance with governmental accounting standards. The Senior Project Accountant performs complex reconciliations, prepares journal entries, assists with audits, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with city policies, funding requirements, and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle accounting of capital projects and CIP including proper classification, capitalization, and close out in accordance with GAAP, GASB, and GFOA best practices.

Ensure construction costs are recorded within contractual terms and payment timelines are met. Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries for CIP-related activities including WIP, transfers, capitalization, and depreciation.
Reconcile all CIP-related general ledger accounts, capital project funds, and developer escrows.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset sub-ledgers and coordinate fixed asset tagging, disposals, and retirements.
Serve as primary liaison between the Finance Department and departments managing capital projects (e.g., Public Works, Utilities, Engineering, etc.).
