The Billing Supervisor is responsible for leadership, supervision, and performance of the billing (

credentialing, coding, and medical records functions. This position achieves results primarily through direct supervision of the Billing Lead and the Coding Lead, as well as direct oversight of credentialing and medical records staff. The Billing Supervisor ensures regulatory compliance, accurate billing and credentialing processes, effective coding, and secure management of medical records while supporting the strategic objectives of the revenue cycle functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor Billing Lead and Coding Lead; provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure departmental objectives are met, and performance expectations are achieved.
Provide direct oversight of Credentialing and Medical Records staff, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant operations in these areas.
Ensure Billing and Coding Leads manage the daily workflow, staff scheduling, training and quality assurance, for their respective teams.
Set clear departmental goals and performance metrics for billing, coding, credentialing, and medical records; monitor progress using regular reports and dashboards.
Develop, review, and update policies and procedures for all supervised departments to maintain compliance with evolving regulations, payer requirements, and internal standards.
Collaborate with leads to address operational challenges, resolve escalated issues, improve collection rates, clean claim submissions, denial resolutions, and coding accuracy.
Monitor key performance indicators including accounts receivable, net collection rate, days in A/R, clean claims rates, denial rates, non-contractual adjustments, and appeal outcomes, coding accuracy, credentialing turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in medical billing, coding, revenue cycle management, or related roles, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities REQUIRED. Formal education in a related field is a plus.
Deep knowledge of revenue cycle operations: medical billing
(insurance and patient collections),
insurance appeals, payment posting, coding, credentialing, and medical records requirements.
Thorough understanding of coding systems
(ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS
), credentialing and payer enrollment processes, medical record management, and regulatory compliance standards
(HIPAA, OIG, Medicare/Medicaid).
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff through leads; strong delegation, coaching, and team-building capabilities.

Job Summary

Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor

Job Summary
The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per plan of care. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psycho-social support and other personal care to assigned resident. Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications

Minnesota: Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Successful completion of a state-approved Trained Medication Assistant course.
North Dakota: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained. If working in an Assisted Living or Basic Care facility, Medication Assistant I certification required. If working in a skilled nursing facility, Medication Assistant II certification is required.
South Dakota: Must successfully complete the state approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course. CMA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing.
For all Good Samaritan Society Locations: Must have the state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA). It is assumed that one must have their certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification prior to attaining their TMA/CMA.
