Centralia General Hospital: In the 1930 census, the hospital was located at 522 North Iron (1930 census, Centralia Ward 6, ED 21-13, sheet 7A, roll 2507).

In 1930, the County of Lewis purchased the land for a county hospital on the top of a hill leading into town.

In 1930, the construction of the hospital began.

1931

Seven months later, in August 1931, the construction phase ended and a brand new healthcare facility opened its doors to a grateful community.

1937

Morton General Hospital: Morton General was opened in 1937 by Doctor C. B. Ritchie and remained privately owned and operated until it was purchased by the Lewis County Hospital District No.

The hospital was originally started in 1937.

1938

In 1938, Doctor Ritchie was joined by Doctor Leonard Asmundson.

1946

In 1946, Doctor Anderson purchased the hospital and operated it alone until Doctor Brandt Bede became co-owner in September of that year.

1978

Over the generations to follow, the community grew and in 1978, a hospital district was formed to ensure the community would ensure its healthy future for generations more to follow.

2007

In 2007, a new hospital building was opened on Adams St in Morton.

2019

In January 2019, the district adopted a new parent name, Arbor Health, reflecting the philosophy that our network of care is truly better together, ensuring compassionate, professional health care right here at home.
