Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Groundperson
As a Groundperson at Lewis Services, you'll be on the right hand of our tree crews, supporting vegetation management for utility partners and various other customers.
* Clear vegetation and debris from work sites around power lines (Tree pruning, vegetation removal, lift logs, drag brush, etc.)
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment like chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers
* Assist climbers by spotting from the ground, handing up tools, and using hand lines
* Assist with rigging and felling of trees
* Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards in and around the work area
* Apply herbicides (with proper certification) to manage growth
* Maintain clean, organized trucks and job sites
* Set up traffic control zones and direct traffic when needed
* Travel frequently (including overnight stays) to different job sites
* Participate in safety briefings and follow all company safety protocols

Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Crew Leader
As a Crew Leader at Lewis Services, you will oversee and manage a crew performing utility vegetation management, ensuring safe and efficient tree trimming and line clearing operations for the utility and other customers.
* Supervise daily tree crew operations and ensure safe, efficient work practices, including training, onboarding, coaching, discipline, and ensure high-quality and efficient job performance.
* Plan and assign tasks based on crew members' skills and job requirements.
* Monitor and evaluate crew performance, including new hires, for training, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
* Maintain up-to-date contact information for all crew members and report any availability or fitness-for-duty concerns to the General Foreman.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Trimmer Trainee
As a Trimmer Trainee at Lewis Services, you will develop the necessary skills to support our tree crews with tree trimming and line clearing operations, assisting and supporting vegetation management for utility partners.
* Assist with ground-level vegetation management around power lines (Tree pruning, vegetation removal, lifting logs, dragging brush, assisting climbers, hand up tools, using hand lines, etc.)
* Prune, remove branches, and lift logs, while climbing or using an aerial lift, under direct supervision (After proper training and demonstration of expertise).
* Support crews with site prep, equipment setup, and jobsite cleanup.

As a Mobile Fleet Technician at Lewis Services, you'll:
* Perform field-based maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services on fleet assets and heavy equipment

Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Groundperson
As a Groundperson at Lewis Services, you'll be on the right hand of our tree crews, supporting vegetation management for utility partners and various other customers.
* Clear vegetation and debris from work sites around power lines (Tree pruning, vegetation removal, lift logs, drag brush, etc.)
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment like chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers
* Assist climbers by spotting from the ground, handing up tools, and using hand lines
* Assist with rigging and felling of trees
* Safeguard colleagues and the public from hazards in and around the work area
* Apply herbicides (with proper certification) to manage growth
* Maintain clean, organized trucks and job sites
* Set up traffic control zones and direct traffic when needed
* Travel frequently (including overnight stays) to different job sites
* Participate in safety briefings and follow all company safety protocols
Qualifications
What You Bring
* Groundperson certification (or ability to complete)
* Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions - Physical ability to hike, lift up 50 lbs., and handle tools - Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
* CPR/First Aid certification (provided by Lewis) - Herbicide applicator certification (or ability to complete and maintain) - Team player attitude, adaptability, and a strong work ethic
* Ensure compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal regulations.

Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.

Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
Removal of hazardous trees
