Job Summary and Qualifications
Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
Performs all CT procedures, Able to learn and/or perform MRI Exams
Observant of patients' conditions.
Practices and enforces radiation safety as described in federal standards, utilizing ALARA policy.
Adheres to all appropriate hospital and regulatory policies and assists in maintaining accreditation.
Understands and operates electronic information systems.
Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.
Administers contrast media as required.
Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of CT and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT.
Takes call after regular hours as assigned.
Maintains appropriate supplies.
Assures primary area is clean and organized. Assists in other areas of the department when not needed in primary area. Performs clerical and transport duties as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
EXPERIENCE
Required: Experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Preferred: One year dedicated CT experience.
EDUCATION
Required: Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required: ARRT registered.
Required: CT Registry within 12 months of employment and BLS within 90 days of employment.
Hours: Full time, day shift, weekends only

Department/Position Overview:
The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist is a health care professional that, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures. Resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers and medications during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care and drug administration commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with the following procedures:diagnostic caths, interventions, CTOs, Afib Watchman device, Impella,intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), TAVR Heart Valve Replacement, Mitra clips, Left/Right heart caths, biopsies, cardioversions, Transesophageal echo, loop recorder implants, etc.This area has five labs and a Hybrid OR.

Education: A graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing). One-year related experience required.
BLS and RCIS certification required. ACLS will be required within 90 days of hire.

**BONUS ELIGIBLE** For new hires with this full-time position!! Under the clinical direction of a Radiologist, the Coordinator of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Services and the Director of Radiology, performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures.
Responsible for the daily Quality Control of all Hot Lab and Imaging Equipment.
The technologist must use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure in a manner that they are calm and comfortable prior to being injected for the procedure.
They display their technical competence by effectively producing high quality PET-CT images.
Performs high quality nuclear medicine and/or positron emission tomography/computed tomography images on patients while providing excellent care.
Assures proper dose of radionuclides are ordered for each patient.
Checks dose labels to ensure the radionuclide is correct for each patient procedure.
Examines doses and adjusts accordingly to ensure each dose matches the recommended amount.
Obtains blood sugar levels as needed.
Starts intravenous lines or performs straight stick venipuncture for isotope injection.
Administers radionuclide in a safe and effective manner.
Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients, guiding them through a sometimes difficult process by gently talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
Monitors patients' well- being during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
Follows established nuclear medicine protocols and procedures.
Performs and documents surveys and wipe tests of incoming and outgoing radioactive shipments in accordance with departmental policies.
Makes suggestions to improve work methods.
Trains new nuclear medicine employees as directed.
Disposes of and stores radioactive materials following radiation safety procedures.
Uses ALARA concept to minimize patient radiation doses.
Documents and reports any over-exposures and advises management immediately.
Conducts daily, monthly, and quarterly QC testing.
Follows STAT protocol and procedure when necessary.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
Performs all CT procedures, Able to learn and/or perform MRI Exams
Observant of patients' conditions.
Practices and enforces radiation safety as described in federal standards, utilizing ALARA policy.
Adheres to all appropriate hospital and regulatory policies and assists in maintaining accreditation.
Understands and operates electronic information systems.
Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.
Administers contrast media as required.
Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of CT and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT.
Takes call after regular hours as assigned.
Maintains appropriate supplies.
Assures primary area is clean and organized. Assists in other areas of the department when not
