Pros of working at Lexington Public Library

I started working for the Lexington Public Library when I was 19 years old. I intended to just work part time while in college. I worked there for 15 years until I moved to a different state. I loved it. I started shelving books and left as a librarian assistant having worked at 3 different locations.

Cons of working at Lexington Public Library

As long as you can get along with your co-workers I don't think that there are any cons.

Lexington Public Library benefits

They had very good health insurance when I was there. You might know when new books from your favorite authors are coming out but to be honest if you are a fan of a particular author and really follow them, you are going to know when their books are coming out just about the same as the library staff.

How did you prepare for the Lexington Public Library interview?

I like various subjects of nonfiction and mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, general fiction, etc. I tried to think of what kind of person I would like to help me find and check out books. I tried to be nice and answer questions or know as much as possible where or how to find the information that a person might need. I answered the questions and was willing to learn if I didn't know the answer.

What do you like best about Lexington Public Library's CEO and the leadership team?

I have been away from Lexington for a number of years and I'm afraid that I don't know the current CEO.
