Administrative Responsibilities * Oversee personnel recruitment, onboarding, annual performance evaluation, and personnel management for the Office for Admissions * Review the Admissions Evaluation Committee manual annually to ensure that all information and relevant policies and procedures are appropriately described and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws * Under guidance from the USC Scholarship Committee, and with the assistance of the Registrar and Financial Aid, distribute scholarships among matriculating students to prioritize the recruitment of students from South Carolina who will remain in South Carolina as practicing physicians * Oversee all policies, procedures, and programs for the Office for Admissions to ensure adherence to state and federal laws as well as LCME, AAMC, Prisma Health, and institutional guidelines * Remains knowledgeable on relevant guidance, requirements, and best practice from local and federal entities and ensures alignment with recommendations from main campus Ensures relevant data and analytical components are readily available at the request of the Dean and other entities Ancillary Activities * Represent the medical school at national and regional student events/medical education organizations and relevant meetings, including, but not limited to, the AAMC Annual Meeting and AAMC Group on Student Affairs * Support the Student Affairs team for sentinel events and programs, including but not limited to the White Coat Ceremony, match week, and graduation * Engage as needed with Office of Student Affairs to support students who are navigating personal or professional challenges * Serve on the senior leadership team of the medical school Leadership Qualities * Acts ethically, with integrity, and is authentic and self-aware, adhering to the university's values (The Carolinian Creed) and interacting with others in a way that engenders confidence in them and in the organization * Builds partnerships and invests in the development of strategic internal and external partnerships, collaborating to reach productive agreements and foster goodwill * Advocates for evidence-based changes to support continuous quality improvement in the admissions process * Demonstrates commitment to advancing the mission/vision/guiding principles of USC School of Medicine Greenville in setting priorities and conducting work * Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork, self-awareness, professionalism, openness/transparency, professional communication, and service * Proactively seeks opportunities to apply his/her training, experience, knowledge, and skills as appropriate to meet emerging institutional needs * Communicates respect for others in the work environment and contributes to the development of a welcoming and positive institutional culture * Exemplifies commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, engaging in ongoing professional development, and working as part of a learning community with students, prospective students, faculty, and staff from various backgrounds Required Education and Experience * Terminal degree (e.g. MD; EdD; PhD) * Experience in medical education administration with, for example, a previous role as assistant/associate dean, course director, residency director, and/or clerkship director * Commitment to continuous professional development * Outstanding interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills * Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities * Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage various stakeholders and initiatives * Demonstrated success in collaboration, a strong work ethic, and experience in leadership and supervisory roles * Leadership competency with a proven ability to develop productive and collegial relationships with faculty, staff, and students * Knowledgeable about future directions in medicine and their implications for medical students Preferred Qualifications * At least 2 years' experience in medical education administration with, for example, a previous role as assistant/associate dean, course director, residency director, and/or clerkship director * Community leadership * Previous experience in medical school admissions, counseling, and mentoring medical students and/or undergraduate medical education * Knowledge of and experience with LCME accreditation Posting Detail Information Desired Start Date 01/01/2026 Job Open Date 09/10/2025 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicant If selected as a finalist, the search committee will reach out for the submission of at least three letters of recommendation.
