JOB SUMMARY:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for personnel management, motivation, development and coaching, food safety and customer satisfaction. This position requires the ability to lead a large staff effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant/pub environment. The Sous Chef is the shift supervisor and solves problems that occur during the shift. This is a leadership position that encapsulates the broadness of the kitchen operation while maintaining a sense of order during high-volume operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage all hourly BOH staff in running brewpub kitchen according to specific and strict quality and efficiency standards.
Work closely with pubs management team to ensure BOH and FOH operations coordinate seamlessly.
Must have basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and read, translate, and execute recipes as well as assist in menu development.
Ability to perform all line cook and prep cook duties and step to assist during peak times.
Ensure food and beverage quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage and sanitation and maintain accurate inventory levels.
Prepare daily specials for FOH managers and staff and notify when low or sold out.
Assumes responsibility for the administrative tasks of running the kitchen (Scheduling, etc.).
Assists in training of kitchen staff for growth and development.
In the absence of the Executive Chef this position will lead shifts which include daily decision making, staff support, guest interaction, and staff cutting while ensuring standards, product quality and cleanliness.
Implements proper quality control procedures guaranteeing standards.
Assist in ensuring safe working and guest environment to reduce risk and injury. Report any incidents to the Executive Chef and HR immediately.
Assist in making sure all staff is following company stated policies from the handbook including, but not limited to, cleanliness and hygiene, dress code and professional behavior.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years significant restaurant kitchen experience.
Excellent leadership skills with the proven track record to lead and empower team members.
Must be proficient in all kitchen positions in the restaurant (line cook, prep cook, etc.).
Expert-level knowledge of food and beverage industry including BOH operations.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment.
Capable of handling personal responsibilities in a high-stress, fast-paced work environment.
Aptitude to work with and troubleshoot equipment.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 60lbs and stand for 8+ hours per shift.

The story of Devils Backbone Brewing Company goes like this: years ago, our founders, Steve and Heidi Crandall, were on a ski trip in the Alps when they tried their first craft beer, a German Weisse at a brewpub & it was like no beer they had ever tasted. ROLE SUMMARY: The Brewer operates our 120-barrel automated brewing systems. Aspects of this system include milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, hop additions, whirlpool, and wort cooling. In addition, the Brewer is responsible for pre- and post-cleaning and sanitation of all transfer lines and vessels. This position is also responsible for cellar tasks including, but not limited to, yeast pitching, filtration, beer transfers, tank CIPs, various fermentation additions, and maintenance of parts and hoses. The Brewer works (5) 8-hour shifts/week, and work includes 24/7 hours. The Brewer is expected to be punctual, self-motivated, and contribute within a teamwork environment. Growth and development plan is provided, rewarding proficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Continually maintain all beer production areas including equipment (mill room, brewhouse, fermentation, filtration, spent grain area, bulk grain and grain storage area, as well as all walkways and driveways around or leading to brewhouse and cellar).
Assist maintenance technicians with equipment maintenance and repairs.
Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a clean working environment.
Attend production meetings and contribute to product improvement.
Operate and monitor electronic and computerized brew systems.
Work closely with brewing team to achieve desired quality and production targets;
Complete assigned tasks in accordance with company standard operating procedures and guidelines (SOP/SOG).
Keep accurate inventory and quality management of raw materials and chemicals.
Periodic handling of hazardous chemicals.
Keep accurate daily production records per company and Federal Requirements.
Follow all safety procedures.
May represent Devils Backbone Brewing Company at beer festivals.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be 21-years of age.
Minimum of two years of brewing experience as assistant brewer or brewer preferred.
Brewing education, certification, or undergraduate education preferred.
Must be able to operate forklift (training provided), and a pallet jack.
General knowledge of practices, methods, tools, and equipment used in production and pub-style brewing.
General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with a production environment.
Ability to interpret technical bulletins and schematics on equipment.
Involves frequent walking, lifting, and carrying objects weighing 50lbs routinely, occasional lifting of 100-150lbs.
May require standing for long periods of time (4+ consecutive hours).
Must be able to work with fitted face respirator (provided) for periods not to exceed 30-minutes.
Frequent use of latches, hand tools, clamps, hoses, etc., requiring manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination.
Regular contact with production employees and management, as well as potential customer interaction.

We are proud our sales consultants earn an average annual salary of $40,000 to $64,000, combining a base hourly rate plus uncapped commission. We provide paid training and a guaranteed ramp-up rate during your first 60 days of employment.
Employees accrue paid time off each pay period at a rate of no less than 40 hours per year for their first year and 80 hours per year each year thereafter. You are entitled to minimum requirements for paid sick leave under appropriate state law if applicable.

About the role: These positions are as-needed opportunities and offer flexibility in scheduling and highly competitive pay. We send you out to local companies within your area to perform health screenings for the employees of the companies.

Job Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required
Current national certification in Phlebotomy from a Premise Health approved organization OR one of the following:
Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Phlebotomy program with hands-on externship completed
Over 100 successful finger sticks within the last year or a minimum of 200 successful venipuncture blood draws within the last 6 months
For candidates performing phlebotomy in NV, CA WA, and LA (you must have an active state specific Phlebotomy certification)
Availability:
Must have morning availability (Monday-Friday) for event-based employment
