POSITION SUMMARY: The Heavy EquipmentOperator is responsible for operating and maintaining all mobile equipment in the facility. Ability to do manual labor for plant cleanup and utility tasks. Ability to assist the blasting crew in the quarry with handling explosives and back filling drilled holes for a shot, if needed. The quarry/blasting responsibilities include the need to pass an ATF background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Heavy EquipmentOperation
Safe operation of mobile equipment (wheel loader, haul trucks, water truck, skid steer, backhoe, drill)
Primary Crusher Operation including rock breaker
Perform pre-shift inspection on vehicle prior to operation & submit to plant operator
Fuel equipment as needed and properly log all fuel required
Report all items found during pre-shift inspection
All other heavy equipmentoperation duties as assigned.
Plant Utility
Plant clean up as required (sweeping, shoveling, manual labor as needed)
Shipping/Loading as required
Perform equipment inspections notifying production and maintenance of issues.
All other plant utility responsibilities as assigned.
Environmental, Health and Safety
Follow all safety policies and procedures & attend scheduled safety meetings
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Promote safety among co-workers utilizing Behavioral Based Safety (BBS)
Perform all work assigned in a neat and orderly manner adhering to company and governmental safety rules and regulations and procedures.
All personnel will be responsible for the facilities' Safe Food initiative, Safe Qualify Feed (SQF), based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Quality Control
Follow directions and dump mined ore in designated location as directed
Report any deviations from the norm that might impact product quality or processing efficiencies
Weigh truck and properly log weight of material hauled as required
Abide by SFSF guidelines and regulations
General Duties
Must successfully complete ATF background check
Competently operate all HME equipment (loaders, haul trucks, motor grader, dozer, crusher, water truck, etc.)
Ability to perform Blaster assistant duties
Basic knowledge of 12/24volt electrical circuits
Perform proper preventative maintenance on equipment (grease, lube, check fluids, air pressure, etc.)
Contribute to FSMA and SQF initiatives
Actively participate in Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBS) and other Corporate Safety Initiatives
Must not have any documented incidents or disciplinary actions for one year
Ability to perform SAP notifications for equipment and work area
Properly complete daily production workplace examinations
Document and track daily production data
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
ATTRIBUTES:
Self-motivated and must be able to work independently
Intimate working knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to operation of vehicles
Detailed knowledge and understanding of over the road heavy truck operation and safety requirements
Must be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed
Able to lift over 50 pounds
Demonstrated skills heavy equipmentoperation a plus, but minimum as demonstrated for an over the road haul truck
History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record
Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
Tolerate working outside in weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, limestone, noise and dust
Must be able to perform in compliance with all Task training requirements
ATF Background Check
All personnel will be responsible for the facilities' Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 80 feet, confined spaces, frequent climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
Ability to lift 65 pounds
Work shift work, seven days a week, or as scheduled, including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
Access to a telephone and be open to overtime and call-outs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 0-3 years of relative previous experience.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of relative previous experience in a mining, manufacturing, or production environment

Job Description
Under the direction of the Mine Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for the daily operation of mine equipment in an active mine environment. All work must be completed in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.

* The schedule is 7 on, 7 off, 12-hour shifts (one week of days, one week of nights)
Job Responsibilities
* Operate mine equipment (haul truck, rubber tire dozer, water truck, loader, track dozer, shovel, etc) based on the need of the business.
* Operate in a safe and efficient manner, causing the least wear and/or damage to the equipment and mine property; maintaining the highest level of production possible, in all tasks assigned.
* Know the work area and dump locations in the mine. Safety conscious with a basic knowledge of pit policies and procedures.
* Have basic knowledge of mechanical system and demonstrated ability to perform and document a thorough pre-operational inspection to evaluate mechanical condition of the truck.
