Job Details

Do you have 1-5 years' experience handling auto liability and/or commercial general liability claims and are looking to make a change to work for a company that values work/life balance? Federated Insurance has a career opportunity for you in this office-based Commercial Auto and Liability ClaimsRepresentative position. No specific state experience is required.

This is an in-office position that will work out of our Tampa, FL office, located at 600 North Westshore Blvd. A work from home option is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Gather evidence and document claims facts.
  • Determine the value of damaged items.
  • Understand and explain insurance policy coverage to clients and third parties.
  • Negotiate settlements with clients or third parties.
  • Resolve claims, which may include paying or denying claims.
  • Communicate with clients, physicians, attorneys, contractors and others to ensure claims are resolved in a prompt, fair, and courteous way.
  • Occasionally handle defending policyholders in court, compromising, or recovering outstanding dollars.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A four year degree in a business-related field.
  • 1-5 years' experience in handling auto or general liability claims.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary: $58,500-$78,100 (Starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience.)

Responsibilities Include:

+ Timely investigation of lower exposure Liability losses for Homeowners Property Claim Department

+ Assign, direct and oversee field Independent Adjusters handling the investigation 3rd party liability losses.

+ Work with House and Independent Counsel in the litigation defense process.

+ Properly document and assess the Company's exposure, and establish adequate and timely reserves are placed on files in accordance to our best practices.

+ Evaluate and negotiate potential claim settlements with Plaintiffs, or appointed counsel.

+ Identify positive and negative trends, formulate solutions and work with other Supervisors and Directors to implement change.

+ Provide technical guidance and direction on homeowner liability cases.
