    The Health Program Coordinator's mission is to coordinate and implement the Health Department's Public Health Community Institute, and oversee implementation of the department's Public Health Pathways Program with city department partners, outside agencies and organizations. The City of Minneapolis Health Department is seeking an individual familiar with developing and implementing innovative programs for career development, with experience in project management, as well as relationship building and collaboration. The Health Program Coordinator will assist in the implementation and management of the Public Health Pathways Program - PHPP, and the Public Health Community Institute - PHCI, as proposed by the Public Health Infrastructure Grant - PHIG. They will network and build relationships with community programs, universities, and schools to promote the programs, recruit participants and collaborate with department staff to develop opportunities and partnerships. Work Location This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. This position is grant-funded with funding secured through 2027; additional funding upon expiration of the grant will be sought but is not guaranteed. Job Duties and Responsibilities Typical duties of the job will include the following: Lead as the Health Department representative on the PHCI and PHPP at City, stakeholder, and community meetings. Lead educational trainings, workshops and technical assistance with government and private partners around the PHCI and PHPP outcomes. Present on the status of the Health Department's PHCI and PHPP to external and internal partners. Develop budgets for the Health Department's PHCI and PHPP and provide guidance on how to reach deliverables for the program with existing resources Manage all operational components of the Health Department's PHCI and PHPP from staffing, educational materials, incentive packages, record keeping of compliance other record keeping tools and ensuring timely required reporting. Implement, manage and evaluate the Public Health Infrastructure grant (PHIG), outcomes through acquired relationships, contracted services and budget management. Negotiate, write, and manage contract services and budgets. Monitor performance of contractors, including site visits to contractors, to ensure compliance with statistical, programmatic and financial reporting requirements. Provide technical assistance and training as needed. Act as advocate for the Health Department and City by driving policy initiatives in the appropriate forums and in relationships with community, other departments, agencies, and programs, both internal and external. Develop and collaborate with staff and internal working groups to facilitate training for interns, supervisors and external partners for PHIG pathways and PHCI. Ensure programs and initiatives of PHIG outcomes are aligned with the Health Department's Health Equity Framework and Strategic Plan. Represent the department in communities by providing technical and advisory support to facilitate health program planning at the community level, and with identified groups and organizations. Identify and secure grants and other funding for department use and take a lead role in the preparation of grant proposals for specific health initiatives. Prepare reports and presentations regarding program activities for grantors, management and elected officials including annual reports to the State and other organizations. Assist in developing and overseeing the process for requests for proposals relevant to area of expertise, including reviewing and analyzing vendor proposals and making recommendations for funding. Required Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in Public Health , Psychology, Sociology, Biology, Social and Behavioral Health, Community Health, Environmental Health, Health Public Policy, Maternal and Child Health, Health Equity, Health Sciences, Social Work , or a closely related field Minimum Experience Five years of directly related experience. Licenses/ Certifications Depending on the assigned Health Department program, specific certifications may be required Equivalency An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered. SYC is a conservation workforce development program for youth, ages 15-18, led by AmeriCorps members, ages 19-30. SYC has historically been a residential program based in northern Minnesota and operated across greater Minnesota and neighboring states. The community-based expansion will be a non-residential, day program based in St. Paul and operate across the Twin Cities metro. Youth and AmeriCorps members in both programs will connect to the natural environment while they work together for six weeks in small groups called crews. Individuals will gain natural resource fieldwork experience and develop workforce readiness skills (e.g. leadership) while completing conservation service projects on public lands. SYC is dedicated to accessibility for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community and runs American Sign Language (ASL) programming. The Youth and Family Liaison will facilitate a close working relationship between youth, their families, and other SYC and CCMI staff. They will be the primary contact for youth and families and responsible for managing the communication and collaboration necessary to fulfill the administrative aspects before, during, and after youth programming. This position will work closely with SYC program managers, recruitment, and human resources staff to recruit and retain youth participants. Programming runs in the summer months and requires some weekend hours and overnight travel. In the off-season, the Youth and Family Liaison will support program development through collaborative continuous quality improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities: Youth Program Recruitment & Onboarding Collaborate with the recruitment team to help build and maintain relationships with key sourcing channels for SYC's target audiences, including youth ages 15-18 and members of the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) community.
