ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Grants Management & Reporting (Approximately 25%)
Coordinate and manage the grants lifecycle, including prospect research, application preparation, submission, reporting, and grant compliance.
Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and Grant Writer to develop compelling proposals and reports that communicate program impact.
Track grant deadlines, outcomes, revenue projections, and stewardship activities to ensure timely submissions and accurate funder communication.
Maintain grant records and documentation in donor database; assist in data collection to support evaluation and narrative content.
Serve as internal liaison to program and branch staff to gather required data, program updates, and stories for grants and reporting.
Corporate, Government & Foundation Relations (Approximately 75%)

Assist in preparing briefings and communications for elected officials and corporate or foundation leaders, including site visits and tours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assists in recruiting migrant students and families.
* Assists in serving as an advocate/liaison for migrant students, their families and schools.
* Assists in serving as an interpreter and with communication between school and Spanish speaking families.
* Assists Migrant Recruiter when completing necessary state and federal paperwork used in determining eligibility for the Migrant Education Program.
* Assists in conducting orientation for migrant families in school settings.
* Assists in conducting home visits involving migrant students. Record eligibility information for each eligible child on a Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
* Work with out-of-school youth (OSY), complete OSY language screener.
* Coordinates with the Migrant Recruiter in assisting school personnel and migrant families to address migrant student needs.
* Adhere to county rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, write, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Your Role in Our Mission
The Education and Outreach Specialist serves as a bridge between community members and providers through outreach and education across the southern Trillium counties on the East coast of North Carolina. The Education and Outreach Specialist provides support to the team by attending community events that may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Flexibility is essential to accommodate community events outside of standard business hours. This is a community-based position, and candidates must reside in Columbus County. You must be comfortable traveling to the following Trillium counties: Craven, Jones, Carteret, Sampson, Duplin, Pender, Onslow, New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Bladen, Robeson, Hoke, and Sampson.
Management preference: Experience with the unhomed population and/or community-based experience.
