Overview The Weight Management Clinic is within the Center for Children's Healthy Lifestyles and Nutrition and addresses childhood obesity prevention and treatment through a multidisciplinary approach for children, teens and young adults ages 2-21 years. Effective weight management involves caring for the whole person. In Weight Management, patients receive care from a dedicated team of experts who are passionate about helping people achieve a healthier lifestyle. Our team includes pediatricians, nurses and nurse practitioners, medical assistants, registered dietitians, exercise physiologists, pediatric psychologists, education coordinators, and social workers. We partner with families, children, and teens to create actionable plans to help them achieve and maintain a healthier weight. Medical Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under direct supervision of a physician, APRN, PA, or RN. Assignment of job responsibilities are delegated by the medical provider, RN, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager or Resource Manager assigned to supervise the Care Assistant and in accordance with this job description.
