The Position
The Strategy & Partnerships team, part of the $12 billion Global Credit Markets portfolio, is hiring a Vice President to focus on the expansion of our external partner network. This individual will be part of a growing Private Credit team focused on partnering with leading alternative lenders and private credit specialists. In this role, you will be an integral member of the team with responsibilities that provide for an investment's full life cycle. The individual will source, screen, analyze, evaluate and value fund investments in the private credit space. The mandate is global and spans sectors, collateral and security types. Investment professionals have access to many of the leading global and U.S. alternative asset management firms as well as industry leading strategists and speakers. You will work directly with the private credit investments team in a dynamic and cross-functional team environment.
Responsibilities
Support the private credit team in the prospecting and evaluation of new investments in private credit funds, as well as in the monitoring of existing private credit fund investments within the portfolio
Lead all aspects of due diligence and analysis of investments - modeling fund performance, and in evaluating overall performance by examining underlying portfolio investments
Develop and present investment committee materials
Evaluate, structure, and negotiate economic and legal terms
Engage with external partners and investors
Market Research: Provide timely market intelligence to the team on the evolution of the private credit landscape as well as deal-specific observations on market pricing, investment structures and deal terms by performing market mapping, identifying and meeting with external managers, and evaluating new opportunities.
Fund Investing: Analyze potential fund investments and make recommendations on commitments to external managers to our investment committee. Negotiate limited partnership agreements and side letters.
Partner Engagement: Engage with partners to monitor performance, track trends and investment themes, and source and analyze direct investments and strategic development opportunities.
Relationship Management: Managing and maintaining a CRM system to track partnership interactions, pipeline investments and managers in the market.
Asset Management: Drive quarterly reporting with an emphasis on analyzing and measuring credit and financial performance in the portfolio from multiple perspectives including asset class, product, industry.
Project Management: Independently run projects and work with external partners and work internally with other LMI credit groups as well as our legal, asset allocation, risk, and accounting and operations teams to develop customized solutions for corporate counterparts.
Team Collaboration: Work independently in a flat/lean team structure and promote a culture of collaboration, being willing to work cross-functionally to add value across the organization. Take an active role in the training, development, and coaching of the team's less seasoned investors.
Technology and Analytics: Pursue the development of technology, data, and analytics needed to support the role.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a leading institution (Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred)
6+ years of related work experience (prior experience in private credit, fund investing, direct investing, investment banking, consulting, or M&A is preferred)
Possess excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, decision making ability, and communication skills, both verbal and written
High comfort level working in Excel, PowerPoint and Word (Efront and CapitalIQ also preferred)
Producer of detail-oriented, accurate and consistent work product
Comfortable making investment recommendations to and fielding questions from an investment committee
Desire to, and professionalism necessary to, interact with external constituencies including alternative asset managers and private credit partners
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across a team-oriented environment

What Is the Opportunity?
Our growing, dynamic in-house law firm focused exclusively on insurance coverage litigation is looking to add an experienced litigator in New Jersey and New York. The Senior Counsel will represent Travelers in state and federal court in the litigation and resolution of Commercial and Personal lines insurance coverage disputes. The Senior Counsel will serve as lead counsel on moderately complex to complex coverage matters, requiring a solid degree of knowledge and expertise, from inception through all phases of litigation.

* Appears on behalf of the Company in both federal and state courts to argue motions and handle trials, status conferences, and other substantive and procedural matters in the litigation of insurance coverage disputes.

What Is the Opportunity?
This role is eligible for a sign on bonus up to $20,000.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, reserving, negotiating and resolving assigned serious and complex Specialty claims. Provides quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle (customer contacts, coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, litigation management, negotiation and resolution) including maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations. Provides consulting and training and serves as an expert technical resource to other claim professionals, business partners, customers, and other stakeholders as appropriate or required. This position does not manage staff.
What Will You Do?
* Directly handle assigned severe claims.
* Full damage value for average claim (without regard to coverage or liability defenses): $500,000 to several million dollars, amounting to a typical inventory of claims with FDV of over a multi-million dollar value.
* Provide quality customer service and ensure file quality, timely coverage analysis and communication with insured based on application of policy information to facts or allegations of each case.
* Work with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
* Directly investigate each claim through prompt and strategically-appropriate contact with appropriate parties such as policyholders, accounts, claimants, law enforcement agencies, witnesses, agents, medical providers and technical experts to determine the extent of liability, damages, and contribution potential.
* Interview witnesses and stakeholders; take necessary statements, as strategically appropriate.
* Complete outside investigation as needed per case specifics.
* Actively engage in the identification, selection and direction of appropriate internal and/or external resources for specific activities required to effectively evaluate claims, such as Subrogation, Risk Control, nurse consultants nurse consultants, and fire or fraud investigators, and other experts.
* Verify the nature and extent of injury or property damage by obtaining and reviewing appropriate records and damages documentation.
* Maintain claim files and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
* Develop and employ creative resolution strategies.
* Responsible for prompt and proper disposition of all claims within delegated authority.
* Negotiate disposition of claims with insureds and claimants or their legal representatives.
* Recognize and implement alternate means of resolution.
* Manages litigated claims. Develop litigation plan with staff or panel counsel, including discovery and legal expenses, to assure effective resolution and to satisfy customers.
* Utilize evaluation documentation tools in accordance with department guidelines.
* Proactively review Claim File Analysis (CFA) for adherence to quality standards and trend analysis.
* Utilize diary management system to ensure that all claims are handled timely. At required time intervals, evaluate liability and damages exposure.
* Establish and maintain proper indemnity and expense reserves.
* Provide guidance to underwriting business partners with respect to accuracy and adequacy of, and potential future changes to, loss reserves on assigned claims.
* Recommend appropriate cases for discussion at roundtable.
* Attend and/or present at roundtables/ authority discussions for collaboration of technical expertise resulting in improved payout on indemnity and expense.
* Actively and enthusiastically share experience and knowledge of creative resolution techniques to improve the claim results of others.
* Apply the Company's claim quality management protocols, and metrics to all claims; document the rationale for any departure from applicable protocols and metrics with or without assistance.

* The Summer Internship is an intensive 10-week internship program with Global Investments. Quantitative Analytics Solutions.
* The intern will gain hands-on exposure to how Aflac's Global Investments division analyzes, allocates, and manages assets across a diverse portfolio, including fixed income, structured products, and private assets.
* Work closely with associates to understand how regulatory capital is modeled, how strategic asset-allocation decisions are made, and how financial planning models support long-term investment outcomes.
