The Heavy Haul Driver 3 has a Class A Commercial's Driver's License (CDL-A), minimum 3 years of relevant driving experience, acts as a mentor to level 1 and 2 Heavy Haul drivers, safely drives units day or night in all weather conditions, and complies with all safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Act as a mentor to level 1 and 2 Heavy Haul Drivers
Safely and legally drive company owned units day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions (occasionally over long distances)
Perform pre-trip and post-trip of inspection of equipment each job
Accurately maintain driver logs
Verify and complete required documentation and reports
Follow instructions and complete required training
Work variable schedule to meet business needs
Maintain and utilize required safety equipment
Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of relevant driving experience, required
Maintaining a valid and current CDL-A and a clean driving record, required
Minimum 21 years of age, required
Tanker and Hazmat endorsements, required
Understanding of separation and segregation requirements for hazardous materials. required
Understanding of the information communicated on shipping papers, markings, labels, and placards, required
Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, required
Able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment drug test and physical examination, required
Able to pass a road test, required
Able to operate both manual and automatic transmissions, required
Able to perform Pre- and Post-trip Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) inspection required
Must be familiar with electronic logging devices
Strong leadership characteristics, able to coach and mentor less experienced team members
Clear verbal and written communication skills, must be able to read, write, speak, and follow directions in English
