Successful candidate will provide direct library services to children & families, supporting early literacy and the love of reading. Duties will include reference and reader's advisory, planning and presenting children's events from birth to grade 5, and assisting in collection maintenance. Candidate will present weekly storytimes, support community partnerships, and provide outreach to local elementary schools, daycare centers, and preschools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and one year experience working with children preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, ability to plan and present events, knowledge of children's books, basic computer skills, and ability to work both independently and as a team member. The candidate must be able to work with patrons and staff in a professional, courteous manner both in person and on the phone.
WAGE: $17.87 per hour; additional $2.00 per hour Sunday premium; Grade 4

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS
Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), Library and Information Studies (MLIS), Information Science (MSIS), Library Science (MLS), or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in cataloging, metadata, library systems, or related technical services work. A combination of relevant coursework, internships, graduate assistantships, or supervised field experience may count toward this requirement.
An additional two (2) years of experience in any combination of the following: cataloging, metadata, library systems, technical support, library administration, access services, information literacy instruction, or research assistance.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

About the Role
The Part-Time Librarian (6 hours per week) plays a pivotal role in managing our library's strategic direction, digital and physical collections, and information literacy programming. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, you'll work directly with faculty and students to ensure resources and services aligned with accreditation standards and the evolving needs of higher education.
Your Mission will include:
Shaping the Library's Vision: Lead the development and implementation of the library's strategic plan, aligning resources and goals with the evolving needs of students and faculty.
Curating a Creative Collection: Oversee a robust, design-focused library collection-acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining digital and physical materials that inspire academic excellence.
Empowering Research and Learning: Design and deliver engaging instruction on information literacy, helping students and faculty confidently navigate academic research and digital tools.
Championing Academic Integrity: Manage the college's academic integrity platform (Turnitin), supporting faculty in upholding high ethical standards across campus.
Enhancing Compliance and Accreditation: Maintain compliance with academic and regulatory standards while contributing to accreditation efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
Fostering Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with faculty to ensure the library evolves alongside the curriculum and supports student success.
Qualifications
