DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring and compliance activities, as well as conducting various reviews within a designated geographic area to enforce several key regulations, and specific chapters of the Environmental Quality Board's Rules and Regulations. Adherence to departmental safety policies is crucial, encompassing guidelines on occupational safety footwear, eyewear, bloodborne pathogen exposure control, confined spaces, and workplace violence. You will perform field inspections of oil and gas wells throughout their lifecycle-covering drilling, production, alteration, inactivity, and plugging phases-across both coal and non-coal areas, as well as conservation wells and gas storage reservoirs.
These inspections aim to ensure compliance with relevant laws, verify the validity of permits, and confirm that drilling occurs at the locations specified in plat maps. Additionally, you will investigate any spills or gas releases, consult permits and well records, collect samples and data as necessary, and document site conditions through photographs and videos. Inspection reports will be completed and filed, with results entered into the eFACTS system and copies sent to operators. Follow-up actions will be taken as needed to ensure compliance, and you will also inspect proposed school sites for potential hazards related to active or abandoned oil and gas wells, pits, or equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Project Management assignments concern the development and administration of contracts for the construction or plan review of facilities, and the inspection of construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and the management and coordination of City or private venture projects. Projects are managed and coordinated from conception through completion. In addition, Project Management assignments assist the project team by coordinating and expediting project approval, plan review, permit issuance, and inspections functions with various departments and agencies.
Enforcement Case Management assignments concern complaint investigations for determination of code deficiencies, not necessarily related to active construction; management of contracts to demolish or repair structures with identified deficiencies, and coordination with various organizations and agencies in managing cases.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Building Inspector class levels are distinguished by the number of inspection disciplines an inspector is recognized to be qualified in based on certification and demonstrable abilities.
Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are automatically flexed to the higher level upon completion of required experience and certification as established per the discipline being flexed to. Appointment to the higher class requires that the employee be performing the full range of duties for the class and meet the qualification standards for the class.
Building Inspector I is the entry-level classification in the building inspection series requiring skill and knowledge in any one inspection discipline as illustrated. Incumbents may be assigned to perform the less difficult or complex work in other disciplines as required.
Building Inspector II is distinguished from Building Inspector I, in that the former requires the performance of complex duties within two inspection disciplines as illustrated. Incumbents may be assigned to perform the less difficult or complex work in other disciplines as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Document manufacturer's production and quality processes in an Initial Factory Assessment (IFA)
Review required production tests, including methods, equipment used and calibration of equipment
Inspect Intertek Listed products, subassemblies and components with respect to Certification Documents to determine compliance with the certification documents created based on tested products
Review Intertek label inventory and control for proper usage of the marks and security of the marks
Review non-compliances issued as a result of previous inspections and document those unresolved
Select samples as directed in the Certification Documents
Compile and document compliances and non-compliances and advise client on proper resolution
Communicate information between facility representatives and Intertek personnel.
Complete and submit Follow-Up Service Inspection Report
Perform other duties as required
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years directly related experience; Associates Degree in related area and 5+ years directly related experience; or Bachelor's Degree in related area and 1+ year directly related experience
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Knowledge of building products or construction methods
Knowledge of Quality Control methods (ISO 9000/14000, QS 9000, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen & Statistical Process Control) a plus
Must have access to the internet
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)
Ability to travel as business needs dictate
Must have strong computer skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to read small print with or without corrective lenses
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Ability to drive for prolonged periods of time during the daytime and evening hours

The base wage or salary range for this position is $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
