RESPONSIBILITES AND JOB DUTIES: Maintain and repair all Hotels Areas in accordance with the procedures and standards guidelines. Report any unusual finding or safety hazards immediately departmental leader and/or Loss Prevention. Document all work performed on a room inspection sheet, work orders. Perform the shift engineer's check list daily and report any abnormalities. Perform all safety tests as directed. Maintain a clean and orderly workshop and storage area. Assist in the ordering and stock maintenance of all necessary tools, parts and materials. Respond to guest and emergency calls within predetermined response time periods. Successfully complete Training Certification Process and review all departmental safety information, practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel company standards. Complete work orders and shop assignments in a timely manner. Walk the Hotels for burnt-out light bulbs and maintenance needs. Participate in the maintenance of all Records and Log Books as requested. Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures. Perform all other engineering related duties assigned by the supervisor. Offer lateral service to internal/external customer when available. Maintain safe conditions in work area and other associated areas. SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of HVAC systems, electricity, plumbing, carpentry Basic knowledge of food service equipment Able to use power tools in a safe manner Work in a safe, prudent and highly organized manner Able to clearly communicate in both technical and non-technical terms Able to climb ladders to access lights and equipment Maintain a clean and tidy work area. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering Conduct self in a most professional manner at all times to reflect the Hotel standards PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment. Requires walking 90 - 95 % of workday. Must be able to push / up to 100 lbs. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Graduate required. Trade school or apprenticeship in general building maintenance, HVAC and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc. preferred. Two years' experience working in a hotel engineering environment preferred. Fire Safety Director experience preferred.     Assist with the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems (mainframe, mini, or client/server based). Assist in optimizing system operation and resource utilization. Perform system capacity analysis and planning. Provide assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. Analyze information requirements and evaluate problems related to workflow, organization, and planning. Assist Senior Computer Systems Analysts and Computer Systems Analysts in developing corrective actions. Help develop plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion. Define problems, develop system requirements, and create program specifications for programmers. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: 1 year of relevant experience in system analysis or configuration. Knowledge of mainframe, mini, or client/server systems. Experience assisting in system optimization, capacity analysis, and user support. Familiarity with system analysis, workflow, and organizational planning. Ability to work with senior analysts and programmers to implement system specifications. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams. Certifications/Training: ITIL, Vendor Specific (Unix, Microsoft, etc.), and/or CompTIA, or similar training. POSITION SUMMARY The Junior Engineer & Planning Coordinator plays a dual role in supporting engineering activities and coordinating production schedules to meet Estimated Ship Dates (ESD). This position combines technical knowledge with operational planning, ensuring accurate product documentation, efficient resource allocation, and timely order fulfillment. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering specifications while managing scheduling and inventory processes. This role is fully on-site at our Costa Mesa office. You'll be joining us in person Monday through Friday, so we're looking for candidates within a comfortable commuting distance. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES ESD Scheduling o Calculate processing time required for each order; estimate time needed for production, qc checks, and packing to set realistic ship dates o Coordinate production activities to ensure products are completed and ready by the ESDo Verify availability of materials and components to meet the production schedule o Develop contingency plans for potential delays; including re-scheduling due to unplanned changes in ship dates from Italy o Maintain the ESD spreadsheet and ensure tentative dates are minimizedo Communicate ESD updates to the internal team Release of Sales Orders and Work Orderso Release all production orders depending on the scheduled (weeks).o Monitor Open and Closed orders and make necessary changeso Release the samples and monitor themo Perform any reversal of a Work order that should not have been closed Monitor and analyze Inventory; turnover, wasteo Collect and analyze inventory data to track turnover and waste. o Apply basic lean principles to recommend improvements for inventory efficiency.Service Level and Lead Time Analysiso Monitor service levels and production lead times to ensure customer requirements are met. o Use forecasting tools to identify potential delays and support reliability improvements Performance Metrics and Reportingo Track KPIs for supply chain performance, including on-time shipments. o Establish and support data analysis initiatives using tools like Excel or basic Six Sigma concepts.Process Optimizationo Participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean and Kaizen methodologies. o Help identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve warehouse and production efficiency BOM Management & Documentationo Ensure BOMs reflect up-to-date design specifications, revisions, and part substitutions.o Enter and manage BOM data in the company's ERP system (SAP).o Support product data accuracy by maintaining part numbers, descriptions, and materials lists.o Assist with cost analysis by ensuring accurate component pricing and quantities are reflected in BOMs.Cross-Functional Collaborationo Work with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality teams to validate and update BOMs.Technical Interpretation & Problem-Solvingo Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications for BOM accuracy.o Identify and resolve BOM-related discrepancies or issues.
