About the role:

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Your Job as Dispensing Nurse:

Your Responsibilities as Dispensing Nurse:

* Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the Medical Director or Program Physician accurately and in a timely manner.
* Document medication administration and nursing care in patient records promptly and accurately, including notes on progress and activities.
* Ensure the safekeeping and accurate inventory of all medication stock and records as required by the DEA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
* Maintain precise accounting of all medication received from suppliers and dispensed to patients.
* Dedicate approximately 90% of work hours to medication administration activities; the remaining time may be assigned to other duties by the Medical or Clinic Director.
* Conduct and process urine and/or blood samples, read test results, complete intake assessments, and assist in monitoring patient outcomes.
* Complete all documentation associated with these procedures accurately and in compliance with clinic standards.
* Depending on clinic needs, may be required to transport medication to other locations or work on a CTC Mobile Unit.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation for roles at Chula Vista CTC varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Chula Vista CTC provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

Your Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (LPN/LVN)
Prefer 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health, outpatient treatment program, or addiction recovery field.
Training or experience treating patients in an outpatient treatment program, preferred.
Ability to operate, monitor, and maintain medical equipment safely and effectively.
* Skilled in drawing blood and collecting other specimens for laboratory testing.
* Proficient in EMR systems and related clinical software applications.
* Competent in patient assessment, including evaluating medical histories, symptoms, and overall condition.
* Able to monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure accurately and consistently.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician in accordance with clinic protocols.
* Observe and document patient responses, side effects, and treatment outcomes to ensure safe and effective care.
Ideal Experience:
* Previous nursing experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities, is highly preferred but not required.
* Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including the safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
* Experience in medication dispensing, monitoring patient dosing, and observing for adverse reactions or medication interactions.
* Understanding of nursing best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
* Accurate and timely documentation of medication administration records (MARs), patient vitals, and incident reports in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care.
* Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Job Summary: Assists the Physicians and/or Practitioners as well as Practice Manager in a clinical and surgical operational setting, while delivering legendary patient care. This job is not an 8-5 workday, staff is expected to stay until their physician is done seeing patients and clinic is closed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists doctor with the daily patient flow of the clinic: makes sure patients are roomed in a timely manner reducing waiting times.
Keeps clinic work-flow moving, focusing on productivity and efficiency including ensuring exam room is set up, supporting provider productivity, reviewing chief complaint with patient prior to visit with provider and calling in medication to pharmacy.
Performs nursing tasks, demonstrating Clinical Competency, including but not limited to: administer medications correctly, sets up sterile field correctly, and performs equipment disinfection and sterilization correctly.
Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards.
Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary care team and support services including physicians, Medical Assistants, Patient Coordinators and others.
Reviews daily clinical and surgical schedule and is able to anticipate appropriately.
Documents clinical and surgical chart notes appropriately and accurately.
Ensures legendary patient care and patient service is provided at all times.
Consistently follows Policies and Procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Attends to department meetings.
Increases physician and or provider's overall patient retention.
Ability to phone triage in a timely and appropriate manor.
Assist in all aspects of a clinical and surgical environment.
Sales: Responsible for generating new sales and maintaining current client base.
Patient re-activation calls; goal is 20 calls per day.
Other Duties: Complete projects and performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by the Practice Manager and/or the General Manager.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Certified Licensed Vocational Nurse
2+ yrs. of Dermatology/Cosmetic back office medical experience
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory issues pertaining to group practice

Key Responsibilities:

Coaching women, assisting with any complications and administering medications during birth
Monitor fetal heartbeat and contractions during labor
Provide guidance to new mothers on all aspects of recovery and infant care
