For more than 30 years, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Sarasota Campus has cared for critically ill newborns and the smallest premature babies.
The only Level III intensive care nursery in the area, our NICU is equipped with the latest technology and multi-disciplinary specialists to provide advanced life support and around-the-clock specialty care and monitoring. A special affiliation with Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital ensures access to the full spectrum of neonatal and pediatric specialties.
Family-centered care - Despite the high-tech operations at work in our NICU, the care we provide is purely family-centered, meaning all of our efforts revolve around your family. We encourage parents to spend as much time as possible with their babies, and provide accommodations, such as visiting lounges, and rooms for overnight stays and family visiting.
Developmental care - We encourage families to take an active role in the care of their infants. Cuddling preemies skin-to-skin is the best thing a parent can do for their baby! During your time in the NICU, our neonatal nurses and physicians will teach you everything you need to know to care for your little one at home, and will celebrate with you every milestone in their development.

Job Details:
This is a full time opportunity for experienced NICU Registered Nurses with minimally two years of NICU experience. Unit shift hours are 6:00 PM- 6:30 AM. Weekends, holidays and mandatory on call shifts are required. NRP certification within 90 days of employment required. Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Salary Details:
Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $34.10, max of salary range is $52.80. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.
Required Qualifications
- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Require Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire in accordance with the NRP curriculum of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association.
- Require any neonatal certification obtained during employment will be maintained during the remainder of employment. These include but are not limited to: High Risk Neonatal Nursing Certification, Neonatal Transport Certification, Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification, any Lactation Certification.

Supports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.

What qualifications you will need:
MUST HAVE RN EMERGENCY ROOM EXPERIENCE
Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
American Heart Association PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.

This is a full time opportunity for experienced L&D Registered Nurses with minimally two years of L&D experience. Unit shift hours are 6:00 PM- 6:30 AM. Weekends, holidays and mandatory on call shifts are required. NRP certification within 90 days of employment required. Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Salary Details:
Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $34.10, max of salary range is $52.80. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
What you will do in this role:
Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
Supports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
What qualifications you will need:
MUST HAVE RN EMERGENCY ROOM EXPERIENCE
Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
American Heart Association PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Summary:
Radiology nurses specialize in providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing diagnostic radiology procedures. Essential Work Functions:
Complete nursing assessment of patients in the Radiology department and document appropriately into patient record
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to plan and coordinate patient care
Monitor patients' responses to throughout procedures and report outcomes
Administer medications as ordered with appropriate documentation
Initiate intravenous access lines, monitor vital signs and oxygen saturation during procedures
Administer special dyes/contrast mediums into patients
Administer barium enemas/solutions prior to procedures
Administer analgesia and sedation as ordered by physicians
Practice proper radiation protection
Reassess patients after their procedure and provide care until they are ready to be discharged
Maintain cleanliness of rooms and adequate stock of supplies
Transport patients as needed ensuring their safety and comfort
Follow hospital safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of radiology nursing practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
