Assists in emergency situations involving the residents.
Responsible for Incident Report writing, in a timely manner and followed-up with an appropriate investigation.
Ensures medications are ordered and received from pharmacy in a timely manner and handled in accordance with company policy.
Ensures appropriate contact with physicians occurs regarding written and verbal orders (this includes properly transcribing physicians' orders with accuracy and assuring follow-up as indicated) in accordance with regulations, standard nursingpractice and established community policies and procedures.
Functions as a floor nurse, as needed, including the passing of any PRN medication.
Makes daily rounds to determine unit effectiveness and identifies needs and concerns.
Identifies and communicates trends on the care floor, assists the Director of Nursing and Administrator with a plan of action to follow through.
Makes recommendations regarding policies and procedures to maintain the care program in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, while offering the best possible care to residents.
