Overview Schedule: Day Shifts Purpose Statement/Position Summary: Project Heal is CHLA's trauma psychology program, working with children and families who have been referred for mental health services as a result of exposure to traumatic events. These events can include medical trauma, child abuse, exposure to family or community violence, or immigration trauma. The Psychotherapist II provides psychotherapeutic services for a caseload of patients with acutely complex needs. Responsible for assessment, treatment planning and provision of psychotherapeutic services to a defined caseload of patients and may also support the facilitation of groups. Employs evidence-based psychological treatment interventions and provides case management services as needed. Services are primarily clinic-based, but some field work is expected, depending on the needs of the program or individual clients. This position works with other team members to support access to overall services. The duties for the Mental Health Counselor II will include, but not be limited to the following: Provides treatment team to develop an individualized plan for each family goals and needs. Counseling families guiding to obtain services within the community in order to strengthen family relations.
