The Aircraft Servicer services aircraft, performing any combination of the following tasks, directs incoming and outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking area to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on ground, using hand or light signals or drives light truck with guiding sign, and secures aircraft in parking position with aircraft wheel chocks, installs landing gear and safing pins. Principal Accountabilities: Operate service vehicles to replenish water, waste system chemicals (at select locations). Assist with refueling, defueling, and towing aircraft (tow vehicle operator). Operate ground support equipment such as electrical power carts, engine starting carts, air conditioning carts, nitrogen carts, oil and hydraulic carts for servicing aircraft. Examine tires for specified air pressure and condition. Position boarding platforms to unload or load aircraft passengers using a staircase truck. De-ice aircraft wings and assemblies (select locations). Extract engine oil samples when required and provide to NDI for analysis. Coordinate via land mobile radio with air traffic control for follow me and towing of aircraft to designated parking spots. Retrieve drag chutes and return to owning maintenance unit. This may include providing holistic support (identifying external factors impacting academic success of students and connecting students with campus and community resources), and academic intervention (providing opportunities for academic, personal, and career development) to at-risk students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities In conjunction with the Academic Success Coaches, provide students assistance with registration including advising students, processing add/drops from courses, checking prerequisites, class availability, and reviewing the academic standing of students. Help the students review and submit the Academic Reinstatement Appeal Implement student assessment, review with students and program team, and monitor progress of students who are on probation, suspension, or identified as “at-risk” by university standards. Identify and executes new and/or revised strategies to maximize retention efforts through a holistic retention model. Assists in the implementation and evaluation of these strategies. Responds to faculty/staff submitted early alerts and supports students in establishing goals to promote success. Acts as a liaison for academic support services such as tutoring, library services, and Student Support Services programs on campus. Acts as a liaison between various student affairs areas such as Counseling, Student Disability, Services, Career Services and Financial Aid.
