    The Manheim Central School District is seeking a full-time, permanent Middle School Guidance Counselor to join us in the 2026 school year. Essential Functions: Apply leadership, advocacy, and collaboration skills as part of a comprehensive school counseling program to promote student achievement and systemic change that enhances student achievement and well-being. Provide brief, solution-focused individual counseling with students. Facilitate and provide small group counseling for students in the areas of personal/social/emotional, and/or educational academics. Consult with building administration to coordinate support service for students, faculty, and families within the school district. Participate as needed in a variety of team processes designed to ensure students' academic success (i.e. Student Assistance Team (SAP), building-based academic and behavioral support teams, MTSS, Tier 2, Student Services Support teams, PBIS). Establish supportive relationships with family units to ensure students' social and emotional needs essential to success in school are met. Assist in the development of Student Attendance Improvement Plans in collaboration with the Building Administration and Home and School Liaison/School Social Worker. Ensures every student has access to the school counseling program through various means including individual student planning, responsive services, and system support. Academic advising to assist individual students in establishing personal goals and developing future plans. Participate in threat assessment and suicide risk assessment protocol with learners in crisis. Coordinate college and career readiness and the development/maintenance of student portfolio. Create and monitor 504 plan implementation, including case management, ensuring that accommodations are effectively implemented. Participate in MC Social Service Fund referrals. Coordinate services and support with Mental Health providers. Participate in School Counselor meetings as a K-12 School Counseling Department. Collaborate with Administration and Department Lead Teachers to review, edit, and update the Academic Curriculum Guide. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by Administration. This position requires a Masters of Education Degree and School Counseling Certification.
