Job Description
As a Licensed Mental Health Professional working in a correctional facility, your responsibilities include conducting intake evaluations, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention techniques, and developing treatment plans for inmates. You will also be responsible for monitoring the clinical needs of inmates on your caseload, providing staff training on mental health topics, and documenting all findings in accordance with company and facility policies. Your role is critical in ensuring that inmates receive appropriate mental health services and care while incarcerated.
Responsibilities
Conduct screening, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and provide appropriate recommendations for their level of care.
Develop and recommend treatment plans, conduct essential treatment services such as psychoeducational and transitional groups, and provide suicide prevention interventions and management techniques.
Respond to sick call requests, provide medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
Provide crisis intervention, oversee the clinical needs of patients on caseload, and participate in treatment team multidisciplinary meetings and administrative meetings.
Provide staff training on relevant mental health topics, document all findings in the patient's health record, and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.

Experience
One (1) or more years of experience in a Mental Health treatment program, preferably in a Correctional or Hospital setting

This position involves responding to behavioral health related calls for service as a member of the Mental Health Response Unit which is comprised of Police Officers, Social Workers, and Community Paramedics. Work is performed with considerable independence within the framework of established police policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the direct supervisor assigned to the Community Crisis Intervention Team (CCIT) within the Community Engagement Division. Co-Responder 1 position are eligible for direct lateral to City of St. Cloud Co-Responder II positions once all educational and licensure requirements are met and an opening exists. Working Hours: Position is subject to after-hours calls and emergencies. Hours may include nights, weekends and holidays, with a general schedule during weekdays.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond in the field with and at times without police officers to mental health and behavioral health related police calls for service in progress.
* Conduct field-based mental health assessments and determine level of care needs.
* Assist with de-escalation and stabilization strategies in real-time during potentially critical incidents.
* Support voluntary or involuntary placement in detox, crisis centers, or inpatient care.

Youth Advocates create safe and supportive environments by providing supervision, mentorship, redirection, and listening skills to youth who are healing from trauma, dealing with life stressors, and working towards independent living. Youth Advocates create a safe and supportive environment for youth who need immediate shelter or crisis stabilization due to homelessness, runaway, family conflict, school problems, trauma, or encounter with law enforcement, juvenile probation, or child protective services. Youth Advocates provide empathy, mentorship, and conflict management. They also provide coaching that empowers residents to heal, find healthy solutions, and strengthen problem-solving skills as part of their developmental stage towards self-sufficiency. Youth Advocates work as part of a team to provide consistency and support the case management in place. Youth Advocates work with the youth to ensure they understand their responsibilities within the program, provide structure, offer encouragement, and be positive role models.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Be a positive role model for the youth and resolve conflict in a constructive fashion.
Take crisis calls, conduct call screenings, intakes and discharges.
Support daily case management goals for the youth.
Teach and model the skills necessary to maintain good health through the teaching of healthy eating habits.
After training provide passing medication through our Medication Administration policy using proper documentation.
Provide concise communication via case notes, staff logs, phone contacts, resident files, medical administration forms, etc.

Maintain appropriate involvement in daily and recreational activities with the youth through positive role-modeling, sportsmanship and safety.

Assist with maintaining the living room and kitchen clean.
