    Opportunity Overview: SRO Engineer - Nuclear Operations - 18-month Contract Role - Remote Are you interested in joining the industry leader to have an impact on how our nuclear power plants operate worldwide? We have a dynamic, diverse opportunity available for a formerly licensed Senior Reactor Operator. This is a contract role based at Westinghouse World Headquarters in Cranberry Twp, PA /open to remote candidates as well. As a Senior Reactor Operator your knowledge and skills will be used in the areas of Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), for new plant design as well as the operating PWR fleet (including AP1000). You will be working on the new generation of reactors like the AP300 SMR and eVinci microreactor, the new fleet of AP1000 and the operating fleet from all over the world. The Nuclear Operations group is an innovative team that has supported the commissioning of PWRs since the beginning of the commercial nuclear power industry and plays a vital role in plant operations today. Our experience is key to defining and improving how nuclear power plants are run worldwide, while supporting utilities worldwide. Building your skills based on operating plant experience in the field, combined with new plant development, will be a major accelerator for your career in the nuclear industry. What your day-to-day looks like: * Apply knowledge about integrated plant operations to develop/update the way control room operators run plants with operating procedures in normal, abnormal and emergency conditions. * Validate various scenarios in control room simulators, before they are used to train reactor operators and implemented in plants worldwide. * Scope of work will include the operating fleet (integrating operating experience and new scenarios) and the next generation of nuclear plants (SMR and microreactors), giving you learning and development opportunities in both worlds. * Develop test procedures supporting commissioning of new plants (like the AP1000) to demonstrate the functionality of components and systems from pre-op testing through the various startup phases. * Develop plant operation and operating procedure for the Westinghouse eVinci Micro Reactor and AP300 Small Modular Reactor designs to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operation. * Work with existing customers and internal team to develop and update NOPs, AOPs, EOPs, FSGs, and other related documents for the operating fleet including the AP1000. * Collaboration with new plant designers and licensed reactor operators to define the best and safest way to operate nuclear plants. * As an author of operating and test procedures, you may have the opportunity to support the commissioning of new plants worldwide. * Presence in our Cranberry (PA) headquarters is preferred but remote work will be considered. What we need to see from you: * 20+ years of experience working as a licensed Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator in a Commercial Nuclear Power Plant (PWR) or experience as a qualified SRO Instructor. * Held a Senior Reactor Operator License for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years OR has been an active Operating Procedure Writer for a Power Reactor in the past 5 years. * Detailed knowledge of PWR operation, systems, components, and procedures is required. * Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status (sponsorship not available). This program includes time spent in the following departments: Technical Design, Pre-Production, Production Planning, Cutting, Sewing, and Quality. Each rotation will be for the duration of about 3 months. At the end of these 6 rotations, the successful candidate will be placed in a position which best fits NSA needs and the candidate's strengths. Essential Job Functions: Sewing: Garment construction at every work center/ learn all equipment used. Learn and help implement single piece flow/monitor teams efficiencies. TSS teams and Teamwork concepts 5S Lean workflow Training new employees/employees' development Learn to navigate and use ERP system used in production. Cutting: Knowledge of fabrics used to manufacture NSA products. Knowledge of spreading and cutting processes with minimum waste. Understand the Cut Support, Order Prep and Additional work activities. Quality: NSA quality guidelines by product type First item inspection QA log Be able to read the label sheet RMA training Planning: Understand the daily planning for all spreaders. Ability to run reports to help prioritize orders that need cut. Ability to help prioritize stock and MTO orders based on needs. Ability to run reports by item, work center, and materials. Technical Design: Ability to use and understand the available software to manipulate patterns. Ability to construct the BOM for a product. Ability to achieve certification on the software for establishing the SAMs. Sample process Pre-Production: Ability to make makers for NSA products with material utilization being the focus along with manufacturability (i.e.. total cost).
