What You'll Do
As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, you will:
Clinical Care

US Programs focuses on providing high quality, essential services that help put-and keep, children into safe and secure homes. The department provides services to over 3,000 children and adults annually through a variety of pre- and post-adoption services. Managed by Eugene, Oregon and branch office staff, these programs and services are carried out in close cooperation with Holt's regional and country programs, partner agencies, child welfare service providers, government child welfare agencies, local and regional officials, funding agencies, and others. The program continuously evaluates opportunities to expand or deepen program services, while maintaining high standards of quality and transparency for child welfare impact.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Holt International finds and supports permanent, loving families for children who are orphaned, abandoned or at serious risk of separation from their family. The Master's Level Social Worker represents Holt in his/her community and ensures successful adjustment of child and family by conducting an assessment of the family, and providing appropriate services throughout the adoption process. The Master's Level Social Worker works cooperatively with families, the Branch Office and the Regional and Social Service Teams in Eugene, Oregon. Note: The Branch Social Worker is primarily a home based position. Depending on where the position is located in proximity to the branch location, the position may be required to have branch office hours. The Branch Social Worker position is required to travel (most often by car) to different locations within the assigned area to complete the essential functions of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (to be completed within timeframes outlined by the Branch Director):
Contributes to public knowledge about Holt and support Holt programs by recruiting adoptive families, conducting informational meetings and phone calls, holding pre-adoption seminars, participating in activities arranged by Holt including picnics or parent groups, representing Holt at adoption meetings, coalitions and organizations, and performing other outreach activities as appropriate.
Determines a family's ability and capacity to parent an adopted child by conducting pre-home study meetings as requested, reviewing and assessing agency-requested information, evaluating the family's knowledge and perceptions of adoption, teaching adoption education courses, and conducting psycho-social assessments of family members.
Contributes to the delivery of high quality adoption services by producing adoption home studies and post placement reports and all supplemental materials in compliance with current country, agency, state and USCIS requirements.
Provides support and case management on all assigned families by maintaining quarterly contact throughout process, communicating information to the family, referring family to appropriate community support systems when necessary and documenting all correspondence in Holt's database. Monitor for expiration dates for background checks and home study as required by State law and ensure families receive forms necessary to update paperwork.
Prepares family for travel and assist with post placement adjustment by providing face-to-face training on the prediction path including possible reactions and behaviors of the child, identifying resources available to the family while in country and upon their return. Social worker will contact the family within one week of their arrival, conduct home visits as required by State law and country program guidelines, assist in early identification of problematic issues, and follow agency policy and consult with Branch Director and/or Clinical Resource Group if additional intervention is required above and beyond the standard protocol for the state/country, recommending removal of child when appropriate.
Assures child's physical and emotional well-being and ease family's adjustment at disruption by providing counseling to the child and family and/or arranging for counseling with a clinician outside the agency and maintaining relationships to ensure behaviors and contacts with the child will allow for closure for child and family. Assist child and family with transition of child to new placement.
Maintains professional knowledge by attending relevant seminars and course work, keeping informed about State regulations, legislation, adoption issues and child-related issues overseas; maintaining license, if required. Participate in Holt Branch Staff meetings as required.
Contributes to a positive, productive work environment by meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines and pre-arranging time off with appropriate notice; treating all people with dignity and respect; and exhibiting good listening and comprehension skills including giving and welcoming feedback.
Contributes to team effort by working cooperatively with Branch and Eugene offices, respectfully responding to all communication from Branch and Eugene within one business day. Providing back-up to colleagues as needed and accomplishing results.
INFORMATION PROCESSING:
Ability to organize, set priorities and work independently. Ability to analyze and interpret complex information from multiple sources and work through complex issues with families and children to identify root issues, potential solutions and options for intervention. Looks at information from multiple perspectives and thoroughly weighs strengths and weaknesses of families before making decisions.

KNOWLEDGE:

Job duties
Under limited supervision, the Certified Master Social Worker position performs Certified Master's level professional social work in determining client needs and provided complex therapeutic services; serves as a member on the interdisciplinary team to participate in treatment planning assigned clients; serves as a liaison to the community as clients' needs warrant, provide psychosocial assessments, individual and group therapy; initiate and implement discharge planning; manage a caseload of approximately 20 patients. Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Master Social Worker : Master's degree in social work and two years of Master Social Worker experience. Recent and soon-to-be graduates and provisionally licensed applicants will be considered.
Master Social Worker: Masters Degree in social work
Legal Requirements: Certification as a Master Social Worker by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is required in accordance with Neb. Rev. Stat. § 38-2128. Certification as a Mental Health Practitioner by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is also required.
Other: valid driver's license. Recent and soon-to-be graduates and provisionally licensed applicants will be considered. A Brief Overview
Provides professional social work services for patients and families in assigned areas of the hospital/clinics, and on an as needed basis in other areas of the hospital/clinics. Under Provisional Supervision, provides crisis/supportive counseling and coaching to patients/families • Supports self-management by assisting families with problem-solving, adjustment to illness, and management of long-term illness, utilizing their positive coping strategies. • Provides interventions which reflect knowledge of how disease impacts social well-being and is enhanced by disease specific knowledge. • Provides crisis intervention in a variety of situations. • Documents interventions appropriately in chart. Provides recommendations and warm hand-offs to health care team members. • Facilitates support groups as needed.
While under supervision, provides assessment and coordination of child abuse/neglect cases. • Assesses psychosocial dynamics. • Communicates with medical and nursing personnel regarding assessment and plan. • Facilitates referral and provides ongoing communication with CPS, law enforcement, and county attorney's office. • Documents pertinent information and completes all reports in a timely fashion. • Prepares and presents cases to the Children's Advocacy Team. Provides on-call services for Social Work Department as required as a provisionally licensed Social Worker. • Assists with all Trauma Cases in the Emergency Department as a crucial team member. • Responds to calls in a timely manner. • Performs on-call duties in a professional manner.
Covers for Social Work colleagues in their absence, and arranges for coverage of social work responsibilities when absent. • Communicates with co-workers regarding coverage needs.
Provides consultation/interventions regarding legal issues such as determining guardianship and assisting with adoption cases. • Consults with Compliance Officer/Legal Counsel as necessary • Provides consultation related to State Wards in determining who has legal authority to consent to treat and release information
Based on departmental/organizational need may be required to participate in Transplant program functions.
The in-patient or SPC social workers may be required to participate in Transplant program functions, Social Work role includes: • Pre and Post-transplant psychosocial assessment of patients and families • Present psychosocial information to the selection committee • Provide transplant program patients and families specific resource information • Confirm resources and discharge plans with team and patients/families

POSITION SUMMARY:
Holt International finds and supports permanent, loving families for children who are orphaned, abandoned or at serious risk of separation from their family. The master's level social worker represents Holt in their community and ensures successful adjustment of child and family by conducting an assessment of the family, and providing appropriate services throughout the adoption process. The master's level social worker works cooperatively with families, the Branch Office and Adoption Teams headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. Note: The Adoption Social Worker is primarily a home-based position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (to be completed within timeframes outlined by the Branch Director):
1. Determines a family's ability and capacity to parent an adopted child by conducting pre-home study meetings as requested, reviewing and assessing agency-requested information, evaluating the family's knowledge and perceptions of adoption, teaching adoption education courses as needed, and conducting psycho-social assessments of family members.
2. Contributes to the delivery of high-quality adoption services by producing adoption home studies and post placement reports that comply with provided guidelines and meet current agency, state, country and USCIS requirements.
3. Provides support and case management of all assigned families by maintaining quarterly contacts throughout process, communicating information to the family, referring family to appropriate community support systems when necessary and documenting all correspondence in Holt's database.
4. Prepares family for travel and assists with post placement adjustment by providing training and identifying resources available to help meet the child's needs and aid in the child's adjustment to the family. Conduct home visits as required by state law and country program guidelines, assist in early identification of problematic issues, and make a determination regarding the stability and appropriateness of the placement.
5. Assures child's physical and emotional well-being and eases family's adjustment by providing counseling to the child and family and/or helping arrange for counseling with a clinician outside the agency if needed. In case of an adoption disruption or dissolution, maintain relationship with family to ensure transition plan is developed that meets the child's needs. Assist child and family with transition of child to new placement.
6. Contributes to public knowledge about Holt and supports Holt programs by participating in activities arranged by Holt including picnics or parent groups, representing Holt at adoption meetings, coalitions and organizations, and performing other outreach activities as appropriate.
7. Maintains professional knowledge by attending relevant seminars and course work, keeping informed about State regulations, legislation, adoption issues and child-related issues overseas; maintaining license, if required.
8. Contributes to a positive, productive work environment by meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines and pre-arranging time off with appropriate notice; treating all people with dignity and respect; and exhibiting good listening and comprehension skills including giving and welcoming feedback.

A Brief Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
Holt International finds and supports permanent, loving families for children who are orphaned, abandoned or at serious risk of separation from their family. The Master's Level Social Worker represents Holt in his/her community and ensures successful adjustment of child and family by conducting an assessment of the family, and providing appropriate services throughout the adoption process. The Master's Level Social Worker works cooperatively with families, the Branch Office and the Regional and Social Service Teams in Eugene, Oregon. Note: The Branch Social Worker is primarily a home based position. Depending on where the position is located in proximity to the branch location, the position may be required to have branch office hours. The Branch Social Worker position is required to travel (most often by car) to different locations within the assigned area to complete the essential functions of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (to be completed within timeframes outlined by the Branch Director):
* Contributes to public knowledge about Holt and support Holt programs by recruiting adoptive families, conducting informational meetings and phone calls, holding pre-adoption seminars, participating in activities arranged by Holt including picnics or parent groups, representing Holt at adoption meetings, coalitions and organizations, and performing other outreach activities as appropriate.
* Determines a family's ability and capacity to parent an adopted child by conducting pre-home study meetings as requested, reviewing and assessing agency-requested information, evaluating the family's knowledge and perceptions of adoption, teaching adoption education courses, and conducting psycho-social assessments of family members.
* Contributes to the delivery of high quality adoption services by producing adoption home studies and post placement reports and all supplemental materials in compliance with current country, agency, state and USCIS requirements.
* Provides support and case management on all assigned families by maintaining quarterly contact throughout process, communicating information to the family, referring family to appropriate community support systems when necessary and documenting all correspondence in Holt's database. Monitor for expiration dates for background checks and home study as required by State law and ensure families receive forms necessary to update paperwork.
* Prepares family for travel and assist with post placement adjustment by providing face-to-face training on the prediction path including possible reactions and behaviors of the child, identifying resources available to the family while in country and upon their return. Social worker will contact the family within one week of their arrival, conduct home visits as required by State law and country program guidelines, assist in early identification of problematic issues, and follow agency policy and consult with Branch Director and/or Clinical Resource Group if additional intervention is required above and beyond the standard protocol for the state/country, recommending removal of child when appropriate.
* Assures child's physical and emotional well-being and ease family's adjustment at disruption by providing counseling to the child and family and/or arranging for counseling with a clinician outside the agency and maintaining relationships to ensure behaviors and contacts with the child will allow for closure for child and family. Assist child and family with transition of child to new placement.
* Maintains professional knowledge by attending relevant seminars and course work, keeping informed about State regulations, legislation, adoption issues and child-related issues overseas; maintaining license, if required. Participate in Holt Branch Staff meetings as required.
