ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as a case manager or co-writer with the teacher of all student assessments and learning plans that focus on educational needs, as well as other needs including IEP goals/accommodations as applicable that may affect a student's functioning in school. QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in social work.
Full approval by the Michigan Department of Education as a Licensed School SocialWorker or have received a recommendation for temporary approval from a Michigan school of social work training program by obtaining an SSW-310 form.
If full or temporary approval from MDE is not in place a waiver can be submitted to MDE allowing the socialworker to enroll in the necessary classes to obtain the SSW-310.
With the waiver in place, GRPS has agreed to waive the requirements under Article 14, Section J.1.a which requires two years of employment at GRPS before a GREA member is eligible for tuition reimbursement. This waiver only applies to the classes required to obtain the SSW-310 certification.
Candidates that access tuition reimbursement will also be required to sign an agreement indicating they will remain employed by GRPS for three years after obtaining their SSW 310 certification. Reimbursement will be required if the candidate does not fulfill this requirement.

Qualifications:
Hold a master's degree in social work; exceptions apply in North Carolina and Ohio

What Will you Do?
As an Intern at Pine Rest, you'll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. The Intern - Master's Level SocialWorker will have shared responsibility and accountability with the Internship Supervisor and designate leaders for a group of patients/clients and directs care to these patients/clients via the development of the treatment approach including specific discipline interventions.
