Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Perform laboratory work in cooperation with the veterinary team Effectively perform sample collections such as venipuncture, cystocentesis, fecal collection, ear cytology, etc. Place IV catheters, administer vaccines, administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes Prepare blood, urine, tissue, and other specimen samples for outside laboratory analysis Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team Digital imaging Properly annotate medical records Provide client education including post-surgical discharge instructions, answering client questions during technician appointments, and phone call consultations Surgical preparation and monitoring, including calculation and administration of anesthetic drugs Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs under the supervision of a veterinarian Qualifications: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or eligible to transfer state license (LVT, CVT, LVMT).
