Position Summary Using LMHS vehicle, provides patient transport to Licking Memorial Hospital and health system appointments for residents of Licking County. Provides patients with directional information and general information regarding the hospital and health systems. Tracks and reports on fuel consumption, maintenance issues, passenger counts etc. May perform other Patient Care Assistant duties as requested. Responsibilities Check schedule for the day and create Daily ride list Ensure vehicle is clean and ready for the first patient Call each patient to remind them of their scheduled pickup(1hr-30min prior) Sanitize vehicle after each patient ride Record mileage and amount of time each scheduled and added ride used Complete each scheduled ride with courtesy and professionalism Complete each add on ride, or add on Discharge ride home with courtesy and professionalism Maintain vehicle checks Communicate back and forth with LMH Ride Coordinator if schedule is changed Perform a thorough vehicle clean: Vacuum inside of vehicle, clean windows, and wipe all surfaces inside the vehicle Take vehicle to car wash to maintain a clean and professional appearance Review and ensure that all mileage and time documentation is correct in driver log Review and ensure that all mileage and time documentation has been entered for each day driver performed scheduled rides Ensure that the Vehicle is taken to be serviced as scheduled Requirements Minimum requirement, high school diploma or GED. Must have valid Ohio driver's license and is acceptable to the hospital's liability insurance carrier. Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions. Maintain CPR certification. STNA, NA or MA licensure preferred Work independently and professionally LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physician with patient care in compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code. Includes maintenance and monitoring of EMR in basket. Maintains and cleans environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate dept/unit personnel. Communicates with patients and customers in a respectful and caring manner. Communicates, collaborates, and anticipates the needs of the health care team to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services. Collects and monitors patient data; reports patient data and patient need as directed. Maintains documentation guidelines around patient chargeable items/services. Ensures processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. Engages in process and quality improvement activities. Makes and implements recommendations to improve operational efficiency and to implement new services for areas of responsibility. Engages in continuous study of the entire professional field, including best practices, to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Promotes and advocates for patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives. Acts as a role model. Serves as SME/resource to the dept/unit/practice in areas such as quality, performance improvement, and EMR (i.e., EPIC Super User).
