Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Activities Assistant: Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all resident activities including special events following the Life Enrichment programs (Lifestyles and Health Services, Embrace the World, Ambassador, and Heartfelt Connections Memory Care Program) on a monthly basis. Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees. Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in the area of disease prevention and management in the holistic spirit of the Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness Program. Lead daily resident activities per our Community standards. Assist with preparing and distributing monthly calendars according to the Community standards. Plan and execute diverse and engaging programs to meet the needs of a diverse resident population including newly retired seniors seeking a carefree lifestyle, seniors in need of physical assistance, and seniors in varying stages of memory loss. Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree preferred Six (6) months experience working with seniors in activities/life enrichment preferred Position Hours: Part Time 9:00am-5:30pm , working every other weekend. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the Children's Program in the Youth Department. Help develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine. Attend staff meetings and development sessions. Supervise and monitor the safety of children in the Youth program, school pick-ups, camps, and on-site and off-site activities. Prepare and organize snacks for the children. Work with children on behavior modification. Create and update monthly youth activity calendar, bus schedules and seating charts. Assist with the school enrollment process and deliver packets to the different schools if needed. Create files for each child enrolled in the Youth Department. Assist with homework assignments and tutoring. Maintain and update the youth roster weekly. Assist with training guests assigned to the Youth Department. Maintain the youth department in an orderly manner. Assist in connecting the children to resources in the community. Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity. Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring any problems to the attention of the case managers and/or Executive Director, as well as parents. Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interest. Assist or preform drug testing for guests, as directed. Supervise the building and enforce program rules. Write incident and end of the night reports. Supervise the dining room; when necessary. Conducts other tasks, projects and clerical duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
