    We are currently considering candidates for a hospitality focused Activities Assistant. Candidates must have a desire to join a great team dedicated to providing outstanding and superior hospitality. We currently have the following shifts available: part-time. The Activities Assistant at The Glenview at Pelican Bay is responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Health Center residents. The Activities Assistant is responsible for the following services including but not limited to: Assists with planning, coordinating activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events, and one-to-one visits, as indicated. Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary. Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information. Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts. Provide materials as necessary. Make routine visits to residents and perform assistance with crafts, projects, etc., as necessary. Suggest activity changes or modifications to meet the specific needs and abilities of individual participants. Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident's response to the service. Assists with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter. Skills/Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. One year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred. Background in music, art, drama, and dance therapy preferred. Many roles in the community require that we ask about your vaccination status. This could include MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis, flu and COVID-19 vaccine status. Basic computer work and data entry may be required. Assists in direct therapy service provision by carrying out delegated, selected patient related tasks under the direct supervision of a therapist allowed by state and federal law. Transports patients/residents to and from therapy department safely and efficiently. Transportation responsibilities include: advancing to the next resident if previous resident is not ready (notifying therapist when returning to department), ensuring that resident's feet are on the foot rests when applicable, ensuring resident is in correct wheelchair by checking name tag on back of wheelchair, ensuring appropriate seat belt or seat alarm is in place, ensuring oxygen tanks have sufficient oxygen and notify nursing and /or therapy when low, transports one resident at a time, and upon completion of therapy session returns resident to unit, nursing station or dining room, if requested. Do not return resident to their rooms unattended unless instructed. Escorts independently ambulatory residents to the rehabilitation department when requested. Provides additional physical help for patient transfer and safety needs under the direct supervision of a therapist or therapist assistant. Assistants do not perform clinical tasks reserved for licensed therapists or therapist assistants. Maintains cleanliness and safety of the rehabilitation department's physical environment and assigned equipment. Oversees maintenance of equipment in accordance with infection control safety guidelines. Responsible for maintenance and replenishment of daily needs of clean linen and other commonly used items. Returns used/soiled linens to housekeeping per facility protocol. Completes assigned clerical duties, such as computer data entry, photocopying, filing, answering the phone, retrieval of therapy related documentation and other paperwork. Maintains a record of equipment maintenance and cleaning schedule as assigned by the therapist manager/s. Performs routine inventory and informs the Therapist Manager/s of stock replenishment needs. Performs other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor. Participates in quality improvement activities as assigned by the Therapist Manager and/or Corporate Director of Rehabilitation. Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services required to meet or exceed the expectations of patients / residents, families, caregivers and customers. POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth Program Assistant will assist, maintain, and develop the Youth Program by coordinating with the Executive Director, Program Manager, Senior Program Admin, and volunteers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the Children's Program in the Youth Department. Help develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine. Attend staff meetings and development sessions. Supervise and monitor the safety of children in the Youth program, school pick-ups, camps, and on-site and off-site activities. Prepare and organize snacks for the children. Work with children on behavior modification. Create and update monthly youth activity calendar, bus schedules and seating charts. Assist with the school enrollment process and deliver packets to the different schools if needed. Create files for each child enrolled in the Youth Department. Assist with homework assignments and tutoring. Maintain and update the youth roster weekly. Assist with training guests assigned to the Youth Department. Maintain the youth department in an orderly manner. Assist in connecting the children to resources in the community. Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity. Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring any problems to the attention of the case managers and/or Executive Director, as well as parents. Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interest. Assist or preform drug testing for guests, as directed. Supervise the building and enforce program rules. Write incident and end of the night reports. Supervise the dining room; when necessary. Conducts other tasks, projects and clerical duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
