POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
An employee in this class assists in preparing and serving food and cleanup of dietary department, food service equipment, dishware, and other utensils; this employee has the versatility to be assigned to any station of the tray line or dish room in addition to washing pots, general cleaning, prepping and plating food and serving in the unit dining rooms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists cook in minor preparation of foods (prepares gelatin, salads and dressing); food preparation such as toast, sandwiches, clean and chop fruits and vegetables, etc.
Portions food for service.
Prepares food set up for snacks, requisitions, special events.
Serves residents in partnership with nursing staff on the units.
Sets up and serves on tray line and in unit dining rooms.
Wraps, labels, and stores leftovers properly.
Operates various kitchen appliances (mixer, blender, chopper, VCM, slicer).
Cleans the kitchen and equipment including sweeping and mopping the floor.
Reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
Reports any supply shortages to supervisor.
Performs the dish machine operations (scraping, feeding, rack out, trucks, runners); and returns cleaned dishware to the proper location.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be 18 years of age with some knowledge of basic nutrition, dietary operations and appliances.
Ability to follow oral and written directions and to work with a minimal amount of supervision on food preparation, tray line, use of equipment, etc. adhering to work standards and infection control guidelines.
Must be able to read, write and understand the English language fluently. Basic math skills for simple arithmetic.
Ability to handle stress.
Physical presence on-site is required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Some experience in food preparation and basic nutrition preferred; on the job training is provided.
Attendance at mandatory in-service training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Good dexterity, physical condition, strength, and stamina are required due to physical requirements of job (including extreme heat on occasion).
Lifting of up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to push and pull carts.
Walking 100% of the time except during breaks.
Standing 100% of the time except during breaks.
Bending 100% of the time except during breaks.
Standing in place for up to 2 hours at a time.

Qualifications
Educational Achievement:
· High School Diploma or GED required. Education or experience is equal to a bachelor's degree, minimum of 8 years' direct related experience.
Work Experience:
· A minimum of 7 years of program experience or related experience required. A minimum of 5 years dedicated to leadership responsibilities or equivalent required.
· Advanced management of team development, succession planning, consistent performance, rewards, discipline, and training as required. Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
· Previous experience with channels and the Philadelphia healthcare network is highly preferred.
· Previous experience developing and implementing highly effective and cohesive teams in a leadership role highly preferred.
· Experience working in a highly collaborative customer-facing environment, ideally in non-profit or government industry.
Preferred:
· Previous experience working with low income, underserved or other transitioning community of people highly preferred. A robust knowledge of the issues facing people living near the poverty line is highly preferred. Ideally in a leadership role.
· Previous experience managing and implementing programs highly preferred.
· Previous successful experience with department or program tool selection and implementation with consideration to CRM, communication and reporting tools.

· Successful experience with problem solving and possesses ability to stay nimble in a fast-paced evolving environment

· An exceptional communicator, both in writing and orally; previous public speaking or teaching experience highly preferred. Ability to speak multiple languages highly preferred, Spanish or Mandarin.
Physical Demands:
· Must have the ability to be available evenings, weekends and take on extended hours as business needs demand.
· Up to 25% of travel is required. Must be willing and able to travel within and outside of the service area (employees can use public transportation, rideshare service, personal vehicle, or other means)
Must be physically compatible with travel, office visits, events, and meetings. Must have a valid driver's license if using company vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Delivers meals to designated Centers, to include assisting in the packaging of meals, placing caddies and containers in the assigned vehicle(s), and transporting meals to designated locations.
2. Records and maintains documentation on services provided.
3. Performs routine vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
4. Maintains vehicle records regarding maintenance, operation and mileage.
5. Cleaning and sanitizes the kitchen, dining, storage and other areas, to include the floors, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, appliances, pots, pans, supplies and utensils, as directed.
