Objective: The EMT is responsible for the transport and care of the medically ill and traumatically injured patients in emergency and non-emergency situations. Prepare all supplies and equipment to place the unit back in service as soon as possible. Use basic tools and procedures to gain access to patients who require extrication. Control the scene in such a way as to minimize further danger in the roadway and control the actions of bystanders. Communicate with other emergency services and medical controls as needed. Follow FCC regulations relative to the use of communications equipment. Possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a driver of ambulance equipment. Drive and operate emergency vehicles to specified locations at a safe and controlled speed, in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations and standards. Assure that vehicles are in good working condition at all times and are properly maintained and stocked. Report verbally and in writing, the observation and emergency medical care of the patient at the emergency scene and in transit, to the receiving medical facility staff for purposes of records and diagnostics. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance visions, color visions, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The associates must also do the following: * Sit and drive using frequent wrist motions and forward reaches * Walk, climb stairs, carry medical equipment up to 70 lbs * Push and pull wheelchairs while ascending or descending stairs with 130 pound patient * Lift, push and pull stretcher to load and unload 150 pound patient (with assistance of one other Paramedic) * Lift and transfer loads up to 150 pound (with assistance of one other Paramedic) * Climb ladder and crawl * Lifting one end of stretcher weighing 105 lbs from chest to overhead (48-66) * Ability to wear particulate respirator. Facial hair, except for a mustache to the corners of the mouth, is prohibited. This may include days, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Full-time available on 12-hour shifts on nights (1800 - 0600). Pay ranges from $26.75/hr to $38.41/hr, depending on experience or having a Critical Care license. $2,000 sign on bonus for full-time. SUMMARY: Responsible for the performance of emergency vehicle and patient care functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, statutes and regulations, as well as company policies and local medical protocols. This position participates in the basic and advanced life support procedures performed on an emergency medical response and/or transport.
