The Aircraft Mechanic II provides onsite maintenance support for Life Flight Network (LFN) aircrafts including management of base inventory, planning and scheduling aircraft maintenance, maintenance of the base library and LFN owned ground support equipment. The Aircraft Mechanic II is also responsible for aviation maintenance including assisting in planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services for LFN in compliance with LFN's FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate.
** This is a Float Position covering the following areas: Astoria, OR, Coupeville, Port Angeles, Hoquiam, Renton, WA **
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Completion of two years of an Aviation Science trade or vocational school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years as Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic
Airframe and Powerplant Certification
Inspection Authorization Certification preferred
Responsible for having a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience
Three years' experience working for an EMS helicopter program preferred
Maintenance experience on Bell 407, Bell 427, EC135 and/or PC12 highly desirable
Avionics experience desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical and administrative issues

Maintain upkeep of work area, materials and tools
Prepare and maintain documentation related to work activities in accordance with regulations and company policy

Apply mathematical and analytical skills to duties

Reports to: Director of Flight School Maintenance
The Maintenance Specialist will coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the TransMedics Aviation Flight School Fleet at base to ensure timely return to service. Coordinate with the Summit Flight Instructors team internally as well as outside vendors to ensure flight safety, compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies, and minimize operational interruptions. The Maintenance Specialist can also be used in support of outside aircraft.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Coordinates and manages maintenance operational issues; AOGs (aircraft on ground),mechanical interruptions, in-flight emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with Flight Instructors.
When applicable order, manage parts required for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and coordinate with TMDX Parts team for core returns.
Evaluates reported aircraft discrepancies and develops appropriate repair or recovery plan.
Communicates a return to service estimate for AOG aircraft.
Monitors current aircraft hours and cycles ensure time-sensitive inspections and deferred items MEL/NEF/CDL expiration times are scheduled and not exceeded.
Evaluate the individual aircraft schedules for opportunities to schedule service checks and cleanings.
Maintain and manage the aircraft due list and discrepancies/deferrals in the web-based flight schedule.
When applicable coordinate the process for aircraft ferry flights to a maintenance provider.
Audit all RTS paperwork and packages for aircraft being returned to service and file digital copies in TMDX's Aviation's digital filing system, ensure original paperwork is filed.
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted with current FAA regulations and OEM approved data, when needed provide outside vendors with applicable data or references.

Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience
Three years' experience working for an EMS helicopter program preferred
