This position is parttime and includes transportation and personal escort services for our residents to and from medical appointments, driving residents on group social outings, helping to maintain our vehicles, interacting with residents, their families, and physicians, and ensuring safe practices in the transport of our residents. The successful candidate will be motivated by service, an organized and detail-oriented individual with a positive and self-motivated attitude. You must have strong communication and computer skills. Excellent time management skills are important along with relationship building, persistence, flexibility, and adaptability. You must want to have fun and spend time with others to be successful in this role. SKILLS NEEDED: Confidence to engage with seniors, individually and in small groups Excellent driving skills and safety awareness Aptitude to manage daily transportation schedule Ability to operate different types of vehicles including 13 passenger bus, vans, cars Calm demeanor in times of pressure and ability to promote this sense of calmness with others Communication skills that help encourage our residents throughout their day Comfortability to interact with residents that have varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities Team player with ability to develop strong working relationships along with customer service focus Ability to adapt/respond quickly to the needs and preferences of our residents An understanding or the willingness to gain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how to help residents with dementia still live with purpose RELATABLE EXPERIENCE: Experiences where you have driven passengers and provided for their safe transport Past roles in which you have been tasked with providing for the safety and comfort of others Jobs you've had that include working with seniors or other vulnerable populations Roles in which you have provided excellent customer service Prior volunteer work or other work with vulnerable groups of people Experiences that have given you a familiarity with the senior population and how aging can affect a person QUALIFICATIONS: 1- At least 21 years of age 2- Experience transporting individuals and groups of people 3- Current negative TB test 4- State required licenses for specialized vehicles 5- Willingness to learn how to work in a healthcare/assisted living environment 6- Ability to pass criminal record/background check 7- Level-headed and non-flappable nature 8- Valid driver's license with a qualifying driver abstract 9- Good time management skills 10- Must be able to work well independently with little oversight As an organization we offer our team members a good benefits package, the ability to be heard, have their opinions count and the opportunity to innovate. Qualifications Qualifications Required Clean driving record which meets Idaho Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements The minimum age requirement for driving a school bus is 25 years. Must pass a DOT physical examination Must pass required background checks, including state day care clearance Ability to read, speak, and write in English Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis Must provide proof of auto insurance Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification Preferred High School Diploma or GED Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger & school bus endorsement One - three months' experience and/or training in transportation Ability to read, speak, and write in both English & Spanish setting.
